While having about 14,000 pounds in tow I can't get over 8 lbs. of boost and EGT's go to the limit quickly. I'm running a Banks stinger plus kit and Psychotty air. I cleaned the air filter and that was no help. I can't hear any air leaks anywhere. I will check for leaks and holes tomorrow. It sure was embarrasing to have that 454 Chevrolet dually pass me on the mountain when I knew I had the power to leave him and couldn't get it. Any ideas about my problem would be appreciated. I normally can pull as much as 32 lbs. of boost with a load.

Check your clamps from the turbo to inter cooler and to the intake. Make sure the boots are on and that the clamps are tight. Most of us experienced loose clamps so snug them up.

Check boost elbow, check wastegate for leaks.

I would imagine you can put out some high amount of black smoke with only 8 lbs of boost.

Have you done some mods? whats your normal max boost?

low boost and high EGT's fixed

I checked my clamps and found the hose loose from the clamp on the driver's side bottom. Yes, it was smoking terribly and really using fuel. Just glad I didn't get the turbo too hot and harm it. I'm glad that is all it was and not something more major. I will keep better check on it from now on. Thanks for the help.
