Well I was pulling a Suburban a few days ago to go up the the mud drags. Real bad headwind.
I had my truck WOT just about the whole way (60miles). What I don't understand is I was only able to hit about 24lbs of boost, EGTs were at most 1100*. For whatever reason, torque convertor was locked, trans in O/D as well... I didn't even realize it was on the floor cause it never came out of O/D.
With the Superchip programmer, I could hit 30lbs of boost. Now running the Smarty, which was on #9, also have a boost elbow... and it's lower? Does that make sense?
I was thinking maybe a boost leak, but my EGTs should have been getting HOT! I searched on here how to make a leak detector, but the couple writeups I saw didn't make sense to me. Does anyone have pics on how to make/use a leak dectector?
Fuel pressure is fine. I don't have a guage, but a dummy light that kicks on at 5psi, and it hasn't kicked on. The fuel pump is on the frame rail.
Does this whole situation sound right?
