Low boost problem?

Just installed #5 plate on a friends 96 auto and it does build much boost only around 20 pound with foot to the floor. My 94 auto with just the 230/605 plate gets about 35 pounds unloaded with my foot in it. I even swaped gauges but they read the same. Did I miss something??

No,The kit came with a little brass fitting thats supose to go in the boost line. The directions talk about installing it on one setup like my 94 that gets its signal at the afc housing. But it doesn't for one that gets it's signal a the torbo. I'm I right or wrong??Help

Chief:

You must block the signal to the wastegate to get your boost up.

If I understand your post, you have not installed the boost orifice/elbow. If there is an elbow on the front of the turbo (compressor) remove the oem elbow and add the replacement, you will then build some boost.

You may have to get some brass fittings to plumb it, if you have the "tee" arrangement near the rear of the afc housing.
