I have a 98. 5 4x4 Club Cab Short Bed 24V w/5sp. with a Banks Stinger Kit and Banks Brake installed. I'm only able to get the Banks guage to read 24-25psi boost max with Exhaust Temp at 1250 or slightly higher. Banks says I should see 30 -32. They told me first to change from the scotch lock type connector to a T-tap on the fuel pump. I did, no results. Next I pulled the turbo and exh. brake off and made sure that the waste gate actuator rod was turned six full turns clockwise to preload the diaphram, according to instuctions, still no results. I just changed the fuel filter, so its fresh. What gives???? Help anyone???

Did you check your air filter? The stock airbox is limited as to what it can flow as well. Did you check your filterminder? Also, is the boost gauge accurate?

I just had a similar problem. The wastegate actuator looked like it was working fine with it hooked up to an air regulator. Put a boost elbow on it for the heck of it and it is working again like it used to. Apparently, the actuator isn't working as good as it used to when new. My problems have been gradually getting worse over the past year. Could also be a boost leak or a tired turbo.

Turned out to be a bad guage according to Banks, so they sent me a new one and now it doesn't match the EGT gauge that came with the package originally, but I am seeing 30# of boost.
