After driving a day with the governer spring kit in, I'm sadden to say the bottom end I was used to is gone. At part throttle it feels better than before but at full throttle at 2000 -2500 RPMs it doesn't have the kick it used to. it seem to have moved up the RPM range to 2750 - 3500.

My boost is down 4 - 5 pounds down there and the EGTs are way lower at 2600 RPMs and full throttle.

Anyone know the fix for this???? I don't really want to put the old spring back in... .

Well it could be one of two things either your getting used to the power or you need to get a #10 plate or slide this one foward.

I recently put a Gov Spring Kit in my truck & the lower end feels the same bot of course the top end really kicks A$$

It's not that I'm just used to the power. I have a hill that I drive every day and I come around a corner and put the hammer down. I am doing 50 MPH in 4th and I run it all the way to the governer (old setting) then shift 5th and left the throttle and come back down to the speed limit (65).

With the old governer spring in I was getting 37 - 38 psi and would max out the EGTs 1600 +. This morning I was only getting 32 -33 psi and the EGTs where only 1100 at 3000 RPMs and it took it alot longer to get there.

Right now at part throttle it is alot peppier but when I go to full throttle it's not what It once was. I'm sure I would dyno less right now.

Maybe it is time for a #10 or the #4. 8.

Drawson,

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Maybe your overflow valve?, or prefilter?

Sometimes I get a crappy tank of fuel from Texaco or somewhere else and my truck will run cruddy until I burn it out.

I can remember if Salt Lake has Texaco's anymore or if they ever did. I live in Pocatello part of the year and we had them there.

You might try removing the AFC spring kit and installing the original one... . you get more smoke but you get more low end fueling as well.
