Low Horsepower!!!!

I only dynoed at 252 horses and 473 torque to the rear wheels on a dynojet last weekend with a gutted torque tube, no kitty, and tru flow foam intake element. WHere is the stock 270-280 horses? That's with a bone stock truck!!!!! I spent money and am 20 to 30 horses low!! And I think I ought to have hit 290 at least!!! I am really ticked, so guys and gals, let me know what you think!! I have an auto trans 2005 3500 4x4 dually 22,000 miles. Clean fuel filter too...

I always figure a 75% loss from the motor to the wheels which going from 325HP and a 75% correction factor gives you 244 HP. I don't think you're far off. When I dynoed I used this and prior knowledge that a Juice/Attitude EZ stack gains 180 RWHP. This shows 424 HP and I dynoed 436HP.

You didn't say if that was corrected or not but it sounds pretty close if not. Dyno numbers will always be low because the intercooler makes a big difference when your moving down the road. Some places put a large fan in front of the grill but it's still not the same.

yeah that actually sounds pretty good. with an auto figure 20-25% loss and with a stick maybe 15-20%

I didn't see a free flow exhaust i the list, just the no kitty part. I have heard that it takes both intake AND exhaust to make more power, if any, and that just one or the other will actually hurt HP.

I was understanding that stock 05 does approx 270/510... . the freer flowing filter / exhaust mods may have cost you some without a fueling box..... I know from my old gasser that opening up the intake / exhaust without other mods actually hurt it on power... . lost torque and shifted power up the rpm band.

It also depends on the dyno you use and how they operate it. Every dyno will give you different numbers. Thats why its important to use the same dyno as your guage when you make modifications.
