Well, here's problem 15 of many with the 99. I left it setting in the garage while on vacation for 2 wks and now it won't run over 1500 rpm and blows blue-white smoke. I just did replace the lift pump and fuel filter to no avail so now what do I need to do? Will the 99 show any codes I can access or do I have to go to the dealer??

Thank you.

Don

This thing is gettin to be like a boat, just a hole in the water you throw money in to!!!! I just spent $2500 for a new clutch and rebuilt transmission.

Sounds like you need to put a Deere motor in it. I put a 4020 in an 80 Ford 350 4x4. It looked better than it ran. Motor wasn't designed for a pickup. Need a different camshaft and a bigger turbo and on and on, like a boat. Did the rats build a nest in the aircleaner? Sounds like your starving for air. Lots of smoke means your getting too much fuel or oil in relation to air. Just guessing.

Hey, now that's an idea. Only I was thinking a 5020 engine and I already have the M&W turbo. I think the 5020 is a 534 ci. engine. That would make it stand up and take notice!!

I'll check the air cleaner cause it sure seems like it is starving for air or fuel and it doesn't have the diesel rattle at idle or WOT (or 1500 rpm). I was thinking I had got some bad fuel but I pulled samples out of both rigs and they are the same. I may see if Autozone can do a scan on it tomorrow.
