I had the low power TSB done on my '01 auto by Iverson motors in Santa Maria. The Tech really knew what he was doing!! My truck feels more powerful in all gears. Feels like an EZ now. The trans also stays out of fourth OD a little later(part of the TSB). I especially like this in in town driving. Chris

MOTORHEAD

What did the service guy at Iversen's look like? Was he a young blonde headed kid? It would be nice to know if they have some good help now.

The TSB covered only 00's & '01s I believe. I don't know the TSB #. It is also only for the Auto trans. trucks only. The guy that worked on my truck is named Dustin. He is younger than me but alot of people are younger than me. He has been there about five years. He is the only Diesel Tech. I was able to talk with him and he was very knowledgeable. Chris

Low power Q:

Hey motorhead, Q: what made you think you had low power, I have a 01 and I'm wondering if I need to have that tsb done?

drwish, I read about it on some diesel web site with a bunch of know-it-all diesel WACKOS:p . Also, when I pulled a hill or put my foot in it in OD, the turbo didn't whine as much as it did in the lower gears. It just felt a little gutless in OD. Less fuel, less turbo noise. The TSB helped. Chris

Gear Oil

I just changed my front and rear diff oil for the 1st time (50k mi) and used Richmond Gear's GL-6 synthetic gear oil. GL-6 is the highest rating I found for a gear oil. SummitRacing.com carries it, at about $10 a qt.

My rear diff leaked with the factory gasket. I used Permatex (black) gasket maker this time and have had no problem.
