I did a few things to the old girl in the past few months and I think I am low on power.



The fuel screw is turned (if I go any further the idle wont come down),The fuel pin is ground down,star wheel bottomed,smoke screw bottomed,366 spring,12 cm housing,93 intercooler,custom cold air intake,5" stack,piston pump upgrade.



egts dont go above 850,only smokes when I floor it with no boost. max boost 18psi.



I though with the pump turned up and the piston pump I would see more smoke. And it seems to defuel mid powerband and not much pull up top.
 
Check to make sure the pump is acctually gettin the wide open signal. The linkages wear out alot. A little bit of travel at the pump will do alot. Make sure you don't have an air leak some where in your intercooler or tubes. Sounds like you should be makin pretty good power. With the 12cm you should be 30++ psi.
 
I will play with the throttle tonight. I will order some pods in the morning. That will get the fuel going. Thanks for the input , I would have thought a bunch of guys would have had some input on this.



I have not done anything to the afc lever. Should I?
 
I think your getting ahead of yourself ordering PODs. Something isn't right with all you have done there. Even if you bumped the timing up the boost is way low for all you have? Weak VE maybe?

thats what I was afraid of. Just think I needed to here that. I had the pump off to change out a cracked pump gear, should of done it then.



Is a complete rebuild kit available. Or should I send it to someone who know how to tweak them!
 
Are you sure you got it back together without retarding the timing? I would take the time to explore that before I sent the pump in or swapped it out.
 
As far as the reasemble, I used the timming marks on the 3 gears. It starts real fast and idles great . No white smoke on startup. off the line it seems fine just no smoke. Midrange it goes flat, and up top its weak.
 
I'd bet your throttle linkages are worn out and loose, if you have good bottom end. If that doesnt help it, you could need some new springs in the pump. WIth what you have done, you should be able to hit 30psi pretty easily.

Well the linkage was not worn however they were out of adjustment. I disconected the linkage and found another inch of throttle. I now see 28lb of boost, egts are still low at 1150. I also adjusted the detent and she shifts perfectly.



This truck flat out hauls!! Thanks for all the help guys.

Good deal. My truck is running about the same as yours, 28-30psi and similar egt's, your there. Now you can spend some money on PODs etc...

You are right, cool the air and it contracts thus lower pressure and lower EGTs.
