I got the electricly controlled vacuum switch that's for the egr control on a Ford Van. I bolted it to the firewall lip on the passenger side. Then I deverted the vacuum line from the front differential to one side of the switch and added a second line down to the front diff. Using an off/on rocker switch mounted on the dash, I was able to stop the vacuum from the t-case to the front diff. Putting the t-case in 4 low and leaving the switch off keeps the coupling motor on the passenger side of the front diff from locking the two axles together. Doing this the front drive shaft only turns the passenger side half axle. The driver's side axle just spins the diff. side and spider gears. In order for the front end to work the coupler motor has to tie the three axles together (one on the driver's side and two half sections on the passenger side).
