Just wondering if any of you guys out there have seen or used an airdam on a 4x4 that really cuts down on air passing under the rig?

When I'm on the road and going thousands of miles, the 4x4 highth is killing my MPG ( or so I think ). The big rigs scoop down low, has any one seen or tried this?

Someone reported in 24 valve about a year ago that removing the stock air dam and leaving nothing there gave him 1 more mpg.

I found it hard to believe.

I have a Dam Air fiberglass air dam designed and fabricated by none other than Doug Hofeldt of Air Bulldog induction hood fame. Although I don't have the Dam Air induction components, I do like the aesthetic value it adds to my Ram. :D I would imagine that by design and the fact that it extends 4 more inches downward, it would route the air flow around and under my Ram far better than the stock counterpart however, I have nothing to quantify this.

I've had Doug's Dam Air on my truck for about two years now. Got it for the fresh air input but was surprised at the difference in handling. Didn't expect to notice a difference, but you will!

Greg

I have the fibreglass air dam (Called "Dam-air") and have the intake scoop for it to the airbox.

It does handle better and the extra lights it comes with helps out the near area of the road. I noticed a slight decrease in EGT's with this on as well.

To all those with dam air I,m working on a better lite you will be able to put in 100 and 250 watt aircraft landing lites were the old ones where. These will be for off road only!!! I have a new e-mail address -- email address removed --

Doug,

I like the Dam, I have aimed the lights so that they are below and to the outside of the other lights. Now when they are on, I have a bright road all the way out to the high beams (did the Relay removal... . ) lights up the road and nobody has blinked me whith them on. The only problem with the dam is it messes up the approach angle for off road. Guess I will have to get a lift:D
