Diesel fuel storage and condensation

Low Down Dirty Shame..look at this::

I purchase over 150,000 gallons of diesel for a fleet of school buses, our new supplier says that most fuel being delivered now is the new ultra low sulfur but since it is being mixed with fuel already in the tank of unknown mixture, they aren't permitted to label as ultra low. After a while they will change the label to ultra low.

The color of the fuel certainly has changed (as others have pointed out). Looks almost like anti-freeze now.

Gary- May I ask what you add to your fuel or what steps you are taking with the introduction of uls? Also, it's off subject, but I saw two frantz filters installed in your photo gallery. Was this done under the "if a little is good, more is better" principle? Thanks,J.

I currently add a half gallon of Power Service Diesel Kleen (Silver jug), mixed with a gallon of ashless synthetic 2 stroke oil - that added to 50 gallons of diesel fuel. Dunno if that is an adequate percentage with the ULSD - will have to ponder on it for a while and see what others seem to have success with.

The 2 Frantz filters you saw are for different systems. One is a sub-micron engine oil bypass filter - the other one is a sub-micron fuel filter for the VP-44.
