Because of what we haul on trips, I am looking for a bumper hitch camper. I anticipate using this for hunting trips, competitive shooting events etc. , and it will see a lot of highway miles. Where we hunt is an hour from a motel, and 15 degrees in a pop up isn't something my spouse will ever enjoy!

We don't need posh, and don't want over 24 or 26'. We want heat, air, bedroom on one end, sleep sofa or bunks on the other. What is out there that doesn't pull like a garage? We already have a pop up, but want to step up to something solid. I have started looking at used Airstreams, but they have to be pretty old before they are in our price range. Thanks for your ideas in advance! ray

If you are looking for mileage the popups are about best but look at the hard sides. A-Frame on the small side to the Hi-Lo on the bigger end of the spectrum uh maybe 22'.

There are several manufactures making hybred campers now. They are a hard side camper with pop-out beds. Trailite by Rvision is one that I am familiar with ... the models are in the Bantum line.

Rvision, absolute junk, POS. Stay away from them. I had a very bad experience with them and will not recommend their products to any one. You can get much better quality and service for same dollars or less.

If you are looking for a light weight self contained trailer/camper you should look at the "Burro" and the "Scamp. " These are light weight fiberglass campers suitable for towing from by a car or 1/2 ton truck or even a smaller truck.

expensive?

The response that said to check Ebay was right on target! Late model airstreams are very expensive for my taste and wallet - after all, I want to use it for a hunting trailer in the fall. There appear to be trailers in reletively good shape that aren't terribly expensive, though. I am surprised at the number of trailers that show up on Ebay, given how difficult it is to find decent used trailers on a dealers lot. Ray
