I watched a Mythbuster's where they shot a rifle at a full scuba tank and couldn't get it to blow. They had to put explosive charges on it to get it to blow. If these tanks are made to the same specs, I wouldn't worry about it blowing up, but if that thing got loose in an accident, it could hurt someone just like anything else in the cab that has any weight to it.



I think it's cool!

If I remember correctly - They did prove that the bottle will gain motivation by puncturing it... At 1300 psi pushing out of it I bet it might pack a heavy punch (though would not explode)

My son was riding with a rancher in a flat bed truck crossing a gully when an oxygen welding bottle fell over shearing off the regulator. They said it sounded like a jet taking off. They tracked a trench in the earth for several hundred yards and observed several tree sheared from the bottle. They lost signs of damage and never found the bottle.
