Lower EGT's

Anybody have any luck lowering egt's with bigger exhaust (up to 5") or bigger turbo housing or monster air filter?

Its a huge Fleetguard paper filter for those that don't like the oil type filters.

Thanks Cat I just put a magnum force air cleaner on my 96 last weekend but haven't towed anything yet to really see if the egt's dropped any.

KAT Diesel---What is the part # for the Fleetgaurd BHAF filter,and does it fit in the original stock filter box?

BHAF# is AH 19037 I think.



And no it doesn't fit in the stock box, it attaches directly to the inlet hose. You have to remove the stock box.

Hey Ramthis1 does that air filter drop your egt's. The magnum force air filter I put on my 96 has a metal frame that appears to shield air filter from the turbo heat but I haven't been able to check it out towing yet. My 96 feels like it works a little better than with the stock air box but it could just be placebo like.

I saw a 100 degree drop in egt's when i put on the 4" exhaust. I got another 275-300 when i put on the B1 bomber turbo. If you want the temps to drop, get a turbo
