Gateway TDR and GDOA Meeting for December

GLTDR Annual Meeting

Anyone interested in getting around for a "Meet and Greet" around the 18th of December in Adrian Michigan?

If we get enough people around I would like to start a group and build from there. If we get enough people we will figure out a date and time.

I'd be open for it but there's no need to start a new group. Check out the GLTDR - http://www.gltdr.org . Things have been kinda slow in the club and it could use an infusion of energy. At one time we had about 50 energized active members and over 100 registered members. The club has money in the bank and a structure already. Would love to see people put energy into it. I've been unable to because of other commitments/life but would love to see it take off again! We do still get together, it just doesn't have the gusto that it had at one time.

The 11th or the 18th sounds great to me. I'd like to meet some of the MI TDR members.

Steve-

Is there any way to get the GLTDR up and going a bit more in my neck of the woods, I know of a couple friends that would join as well as myself. Im not much of a long haul kidna guy and a few of the events that I have seen are a little bit of a hike.

How about just a gathering of a 5+ TDR members. Im not tring to step on anyones toes about the chapters and what not.

Ian

The 18th would work better.

The GLTDR was setup as a regional group. The original idea was that it would provide the structure that would allow for people to get together regularly. The plan was to have club members organize small local get togethers for people in that area and if people outside the area wanted to join in they could. Then several times a year have a bigger get together that would bring in people from the entire region. The website was created to give a place where everyone could meet online, talk about the local stuff, set things up, etc. The club has logos, has had shirts, hitch covers, banners, etc. All you need to do is set something up and let people know about it - could be as small as a restaraunt morning get together - we've had tons of them and they still have them regularly down in Indiana. There's a weekly chat on sundays at 8pm that still happens to discuss where the clubs going, etc. Try checking it out.

well so far we have 5 TDR guys and 1 just wants to check em out. sooo roughly 6 guys... maybe? I think we need to get a few more around? yah / nah ?

Hillsdale is not all that far from me, I would be interested in showing up. So you can increase that count by one :) .

well were around 7 so what do you guys want to do, just bs in the parkinglot, go to a spot and get some grub... . ? ideas are welcome.

Well being indoors for some of it would warmer. We can oogle over the trucks in the parking lot and sit inside to I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER chat.

I would be very interrested, but i'm not sure when i'm going to be a daddy. Spose'd to be any time now. So if it doesn't interfere with fatherhood duties, i'll be there.

Anybody have a big pole barn that we can have a wrench-fest or something similar?? I have enough land but no-where to get in out of the weather.

Later

Doug Johnston, Diesel Performance Systems said it would be alright that we have the meet and greet at his shop on the 18th. Tools won't be a problem, hes offering his shop space to use and he also has alot of knowledge to offer, we'll order some food (plenty of resturants and pizza joints) and beverages. We've got to get a time and let Doug know.

This sounds like a fun get together. Thanks for taking the time to put it together. Weather permitting, meaning if it is not snowing like a banshee and the roads are total crap, I will be planning on it.

FWIW - I am trying to put together a dyno day in the Grand Rapids area for sometime after the first of the year. I will post more info if it starts to pan out.

Bummer, you picked the only day in December other than Christmas and New years that I'm already committed. My brother-in-law is getting married that weekend and I'll be in Grand Rapids :( . I'd rather be playing trucks but it wouldn't be worth the price I'd have to pay if you know what I mean.
