The seat under the console on my 2004. 5 opens up... didn't even know myself until one of my buddies asked "whats this handle for?"

Definitely not there on my `03 SLT. I could barely get my hand under the back of the seat, and then I felt the cushion stuffing. No sign of a handle anywhere. Guess you `04 guys were right to wait...

My 03 has it as part of the premium seat package. just an fyi.

it should flip up from the front if you have it. after you flip up the center console like somebody was going to sit there then just grab the seat part and pull up on the front.

My '03 SLT had it. It did have leather. Don't know if it's only part of the premium seat package or what. As far as a lock, why not just remove the part of the handle that sticks out into sight. I've thought about doing it on both the trucks I've had with that "Secret" compartment.

I found one! It can be configured for both AC or DC 12 or 24 volt and can be also configured for fail secure so it only pulls current when unlocked. I'm thinking the easiest way to hook it up is to us the power outlet wiring going to the top seat storage compartment. Here's the link: http://www.nokey.com/853111/elcabloc.html
