Yesterday morning I removed the 3 spacers between the rear axle and leaf spring and placed them on top of the spring. I reused the spring centerbolts and u-bolts. The whole job only took about two hours from start to finish including putting up the tools. The job is much easier if you remove one spring center bolt at a time and turn the spacers and reinstall the bolt before removing the other bolt with the spacers. I put my jack stands under the eyes at the front of the springs and used a jack to support the axle as I removed and completed one side at a time. I did one side at a time and kept the axle hooked up to the opposite spring and it really helps to control the axle. I can't remember who on this site made the instructional on doing this. I basically did it the same way but found a couple more short cuts. The next step is to install the snow plow prep springs and raise the front end up about 3/4 inches and have a very level setting truck. The front springs are only $225 for the pair.

Your truck had 3 spacers? My 03 and 05 had just 2.
I think the older trucks use two spacers that are thicker but come out to about the same thickness as the three wich are the same as the leafs. The three on my truck measure exactly 1. 20 inches with three.
