lowering back end of truck

I want to lower the back end of my truck, it has the factory 6" block currently, does any one know if this block is square or does it have a taper built into it, I may cut these 2" or else buy 4" blocks so that if I decide to go back I can, where would be a good place to get the blocks and ubolts?

The blocks on my 93 are tapered. To get new ubolts I would go to a local spring shop, they can make them up. You will need to know the diameter of the bolt and then the length. To get the block, any suspension lift kit company will have them. I would also hunt up a 1975-85 dodge 3/4 ton 4X4 truck, they all came with 4 inch blocks factory. I forget how many of them I have thrown away!



Why do you want to lower the back of your truck?? What are you gonna do with the front?? Are you just wanting to level the truck? Your drive shaft angle might have to be corrected with shims. If you haul loads, and lower the back of your truck then I think maybe the truck will point the headlights into the trees when loaded.

I'm pretty sure skyjacker makes rear springs to eliminate the 6 inch block back there. Go on there website it should be on there.

The front of my truck is 37. 75 from floor to center of wheel well opening, the rear is 40. 5. I don't like the unneeded height and added torquing on suspension. I will reposition the helper spring to help sooner and/or add a Timbren set for the rear to keep from getting that dog with a tail between the legs look... . thanks for the input

Those skyjacker rear springs do not have the same load capacity as the stock ones.

So I've been hitting the junkyards around here, I find lots of Fords with 4-4. 5" blocks but they have 3" wide springs(and blocks) 2nd Gen Dodge 3/4 ton had something around 4. 5" but was also 3" wide spring... . early Ramcharger had 3. 5" and a 70something W200 had 3 " blocks. Can't seem to find 4-4. 5" blocks for 2. 5" wide springs... . I did find some good tailgate brackets, and a tailgate that was in much better condition than mine that I will go back for. I saw a Fisher plow frame in real nice shape on a 90's W150 anyone know if it will bolt up to the W250, eyeballing it it looked like I would have to cut some slots in the bumper bracket.....
