My tire iron which i use to lower my jack snapped so i threw it out. Now i realize i have no way to lower my spare. Can anyone tell what I should use as a replacement? or do i need to go to Dodge and buy a new iron.

I believe it is either a 9/16" or 5/8" hex that fits the tube that connects to the spare tire winch. I made up an adaptor that has the hex to fit the tube on one end an a 15/16" hex on the other end that is the same size as the lug nuts so I could use an impact wrench to lower and raise. I got the hexes by welding a nut on each end of a rod.

The tire iron on my 95 also broke, so I used a Vise Grip with a short piece of PVC cheater bar to lower and raise the spare tire.

I made this contraption from some of my odds and ends in my screw collection. It is a 7/16" screw. The plain nut fits an 11/16" socket. The crown nut and the screw head fit a 5/8" socket and the spare tire winch end.
