Here in lays the question?

1) Does the LP go south intermittently or ALL at once?

2) If the LP has gone south, what will be the sure signs of the VP's death?

1a) I noticed yesterday I did not hear the LP when first turning key in the AM. Bump the starter, still nothing. Drove to work, shut er down and tried again. LP runs in both tests. No FP gage (back ordered from Geneo's) New LP on order from Cummins NW.

2a) If the VP has been effected, what will be the symptoms?

TIA

LP's can go all at once, or intermittently. I've had one of each. As for the VP, I think it would have been affected if your LP was out, but how much is hard to say. Some are pretty resilient. If you didn't experience any loss of power, and you didn't throw any codes, I would guess that you are OK. But it is only a guess!

Thanks for the info Will. No codes, no loss of power however, I did notice more smoke on acceleration (thats not always a bad thing) :D plus it's been stanydine everytime since I've had the truck. Hopefully that gave/ is giving the VP the lube and cooling it likes. I just don't want to be Found On Road Dead
