2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission LSD Ka put?

Just turned 100k with no LSD. have tried every Snake Oil technique to revive it. Had been using valvoline synpower 75-90 every 25k, and just assumed it was working. the other day i got really stuck, and noticed only 1 rear wheel was turning. Tried amsoil 85-145? for 1000 miles, no LSD. Switched to the thick cheesy walmart supertech 85-145 with no modifier for 1000 miles, still no LSD. is my rearend trashed? I have pulled some really heavy loads at high speeds, but have never abused the rearend (powerbreaking or doughnuts). . any ideas? any cheap but good lockers out there? Thanks, Lee. .

My LSD has 97000 on it and it never has seemed right to me. (Bought truck used with 30000) Sometimes both sides pull sometime they don't. Never had this problem with my old 96. That thing would come out of places my new one wouldn't even think about.

dissasemble trac loc restack clutchs alternating drives and drivens and you will then be complaining that it works to well

Did you use the limited slip additive when you changed lube?

I did use it with the amsoil, did not use it with the walmart lube. was told that the modifier makes it more slippery and will make the LSD less effective, and to only use enough to make the chatter go away. My LSD never chattered ( or worked for that matter)... Lee

Mine chatters all the time, but she does work. Do you put the friction modifier in her food? If I could just cut the chatter a little, my wife would be perfect!

How do I dissasemble the trac loc clutches? Is that something a shadetree mechanic like myself can do unsupervised?

yep just clean real well add the additive between the clutchs while reassembling and LOC-TITE the case bolts in when done
