Would anyone happen to know who else besides Dunlop makes an LT255/85/R16 size tire? (not necessarily an all-terrain tire either). Most of my driving is highway & I don't need a serious tread. I'm on the near end of my 3rd set of Dunlops that only last about 50K miles :{ per set. Thanks for any info.

The Firestone Wilderness ATs went almost 30K, but they were rough miles. I just got the BFGs last month, but so far I love them. The important thing to check is tire pressures and rotate them religiously. HTH.

I have the Michelin 245/70R 19. 5" "F" rated 12 ply tires and Forged Aluminum Rims from Ricksons. .

These tires have a 21/32nds tread, theey sing a little but I can't hear it when the windows are up... . They have a skinny tread like a 265-16 tire but the diameter is 33" like a 285-16 tire... .

That is my favorite size for the 2500 4x4s. I've been really happy with the Toyo M55. They are a high traction tire, but not what I would call lugged. They do sing a bit on the highway when new. The desirable quality of these tires is their tread life. I have about 45k on mine now and they have nearly that much left. I have read that Toyo makes these for the mining industry where companies have big fleets of pick-ups offroad on 16-inch wheels. I don't know about that, but I do know they are durable, don't lose pressure, and last forever.

Hey EricBu12: What's up with all the off-topic pictures?

Clinton, Toyo, huh? That's what I'm looking for, something that lasts. I do over 30K miles a year (mostly highway) and when you're spending over $500 for rubber you'd hope to get more than 2 yrs. out of them. I wonder if The Tire Rack stocks them? I've used them and they're pretty good. You order them & they ship them to a place close to home for you for an install. Thanks for yours & all other replies guys!

The 97 dually I bought has some like new 255 85r 16s by TruXus - or something to that effect :-laf An aggressive MS tread. I am going to run them bald and replace with something else. If anyone has a clue about these tires, I'd be interested.

Checked and Interco makes them????Whoever that is.

JJW, thanks for this info. 1010 prices aren't as high as other sites I've tried. They tell you everything you need to know and their comparison tables are great. I will use them.

I bought mine from 1010tires.com as JJW_ND posted previously. I went to several Toyo dealers in several different places and they all wanted to charge a 'special order' fee to get the M55. Shipping from 1010tires in British Columbia to Knoxville, TN was less than the 'special order' fee. I found that none of the Toyo dealers I ran across stocked the M55 and more than a few didn't even know what I was talking about. Those guys insisted it was 22. 5" taractor-trailer tire. Oh well, I ended up with what I wanted.

Now then, a word of caution: these M55s are stiff and fairly aggressive. If they are aired to max psi (65 on my 255/85) that sidewall won't give a bit. If cushy road manners are you're ultimate goal, I can't recommend the M55. They will also sing at highway speeds for awhile. I tried balancing beads for the first time when I mounted the M55s and I wouldn't recommend that either. I think they're too stiff for the beads. My treadwear is perfect, but I get some vibes. However, if you're after a durable, long-wearing, medium to high traction truck tire that won't lose pressure (I mean never... it's incredible actually), then the M55 will work well for you. So long as I'm riding on 16" wheels, I'll be riding on M55s.

There... my tire treatise has been written. I think you just wanted to know where to get them, right? Try 1010tires.

Hi there, I am running BFG Long trail T/A's and get about 80000 miles per set. I do a lot of highway driving and am on my 4th set of these. Good luck with your next tire purchase.
