Thanks to others on this forum I learned of the Toyo LT285-75R17 Load Range E tire. It is an all-terrain tire. The tire is 2" larger in diameter and 1" wider than the stock LT265-70R17 tire.

I now have a set of 5 installed. There is no rubbing in the wheel wells and the spare fits, too. :)

I haven't hooked up to our 5th-wheel trailer yet so I can't say how the towing performance has been affected.

My GPS indicates that the speedometer now reads about 6% too low, which was expected.

That's the tire I would have loved to replace my stock blades with when I took delivery of my '07. "75"s weren't available. Good luck with them.

That size tire should help fill the wheel well without going real big or causing a significant MPG penalty. Looking forward to some pics. Thinking about putting that size of tire on my '96 which has '05 rims.

What model tire is that? i took a look on their site and didn't see it.

Glad I took a look though cuz I didn't know they had an Open Country

LT285/70R17 126 load rated to 3750 lbs at 80psi. That would be hard to pass up, I ran that tire in a 121 load on my 03 an and got good service, quiet on road and good winter / snow traction.

It's only on the Canadien Toyo website. Where did you get those from. Up here in Norcal. Les Schwab is a Toyo Dealer. Did they special order it or did they have it in stock?

I'll try to get pictures maybe by tomorrow. I went to a local Toyo Dealer, Preston Tires in LaMesa, CA. Preston didn't know there was such a tire until after I insisted they check with Toyo. They then ordered a set and did a test fit both for my benefit and I think for theirs too. It took only a couple of days to get the tires. The tires are shown on the Toyo Canada web site but obviously are for sale here in the US.

So far I am happy. They really fill out the wheel wells.

OK, by popular demand, here are some pics(sorry that I'm not a better photographer).

Here's some data from the website:

LT285-75R17

11. 7" width on 8" rim

Here's additional data from the sidewall:

Max Load 3,640 lb (dual) at 80 PSI

Do they have the raised white letters on the other side of the tire, or are both sides all black? Every pic I have seen have been all black, maybe just owners preference.

"Express Tire"?

graden, Do you mean "Express Tires" perhaps in La Mesa? They're the local Toyo dealer here in San Diego. How much were they before tax, mounting etc. ?

To answer a couple of questions:

1. I purchased the tires from Preston Tires, 8300 Center Drive, La Mesa, CA 91942 (619) 460-8311

Another local Toyo dealer is Express Tire but I did not check with them.

2. My out-the-door total cost for 5 tires was $1,200 (actually 1,198. 69) including tax.

3. Here's 2 more pics. One shows straight down the side the other was taken from 30 ft. in front of the of the truck. The tires do stick out the side a wee bit.

gbraden-Thanks for the extra pics. I was wondering if the stock flares I have on my truck would cover the tires & from the looks of your pics it would be just right. Thanks again

Man, those tires look excellent. Good price also. Those look like the perfect tire for us SRW guys that pull heavier trailers. They should last awhile also. Scotty
