lube oil filter

Traded my `95 2500 12valver on a `01 2500 ISB 24v. Need to know if the microglass lube oil filter #LF3552 will fit the ISB engine. I had bought the filter through Cummins and never used it. Just sitting on my parts shelf. I also have a fuel/water sep. filter #FS1253 and realize that this will not fit. Anyone need the #FS1253? #ad
Any input I can use would be good. thanks all.

I just asked a similar question of the folks at TDR and the part number for the microglass equivalent for the 24V's is #LF3894 (As opposed to the standard filter #LF3895)

The LF3894 is basically just a 'stronger' LF3552, is this true? 3894 useable for 3552 but not the other way around?

The 3894 is a stronger (24V approved) filter that uses a different filter media then the 3552 Microglass. It will filter as good or better than microglass. If you run in cold climates your asking for trouble with 3552 filters on 24V. ISB does not bypass high oil presure like older 12V engines did. Probably will never have problems in "normal" climates!

Microglass still a great filter on 12V engines.

I confess (mercy O' great one of the North) I have been using the LF3552. When I purchase my oil filters, I purchase a case at a time. At the time my Fleetguard dealer did not have the LF3894 in stock. I have used the LF3552 since day one. Next time I purchase filters I will purchase the LF3894.
