Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Timing Question

Has anyone an opinion or knowledge of Lucas oil additive. I have been adding 2 quarts every oil changes for the last 30,000 miles. I’ve been using Premium Blue for the past 230,000 miles. The owner of a big rig / heavy equipment diesel shop recommended it.

Thanks in advance,

Ed

Lucas makes good stuff...

Don't use any oil additives since I'm running synthetics, but I've used their fuel additive. A little on the pricey side though.

I use the Lucas fuel additive, and see a slight increase in mileage when I do. My dad-in-law drives a '99 International 9900ix with a Cummins in it, and he uses the same stuff. He also notes increases in mileage AND power when he uses it.

Around the farm, we use the oil treatment in everything from 4-wheelers that have bad rings to the old Cub we use to mow with. All with good success. We put some in my brother's '89 s-10 (4. 3L v-6) because we were getting blue smoke at start-up. Three oil changes later with Lucas, and it is getting better to the point where it is almost non-existent.

Not affiliated in any way, shape, or form. Also, I think that the oil treatment is a temporary fix to a permanent problem, but it seems to work for awhile anyway.

I always used the Lucas Auto transmission additive in my truck. Shifts felt firmer, less slippage, and it was still doing fine at 160k when I replaced the TC & upgraded the transmission at Dave Goerends.
