I have a question to any that sold their trucks. I have not had any luck with local papers ect. Am I asking too much at $23,500 or best, or is just nothing selling???????

not selling II

Have had my 01. 5 w/ 26,XXX miles and no mods on market on this site and GLTDR and Auto&RV for almost 45 days. Not one single call. :(

The truck is a 2000 with 67,500 miles, QC, SB, SLT, Black,

275Injectors, 4" exhaust, Infinity loaded except leather and trailer tow and camper group, travel convienience ect, New tires, brakes, bilsteins, ect, ect

I have it on here and in The Truck Trader mags in Michigan,

The only calls have been with it parked an a main state hwy where I work... for sale over a month and 5 calls, one just wanted to buy the cap off the back ????Probably not... .

Luck of the draw??

Two years+ ago, brother in law and I had identical trucks with same miles +- 2K.

I advertised my truck for 6 mo. both locally, a regional truck trader mag. and TDR, before I sold it on TDR add to someone 1200 miles away. I had a total of two people look at it before it was sold by telephone.

The next month Bro-in-law advertised his in the local paper and sold it the day the add came out. He got $1500. more than I was asking.

Vaughn

It took me about 4 mos to sell my 96 and it was priced very reasonable and I advertised it a lot and it finally sold from the local newspaper add. That was 2 years ago.

Lawdog, your asking too much,IMO I bought my loaded 2000 only 1 yr old for 21000,with 48K and its pretty well loaded. the 01's with 35-50K are bringing what your asking. I would guess that you should ask 21000 and expect to get 20 if your lucky.

Interest rates.........

After 9/11 when the big manufacturers dropped the interest rates so low it made the later model used cars/trucks drop way down in price. For that low of interest if any at all why wouldn't someone but new for just about the same payment.

Dealers are salivating now because lots of folks are trading in great vehicles because they can't sell em. The dealers can afford to have them sit on the lot longer than we can have them for sale.

That and now with the 03 style change people want the newest look and performance.

The bad thing about our Rams is it's a specific market. You have to find someone who appreciates the longevity and power of the CTD, yet those are the people that are also looking for the deal.

Like everything, price it right and it will sell... ... ...

Garrett

It took me 4 months to sell my 96 recently. Garret is right, used is a hard sell with the way interest rates are and rebates on new. I think I got lucky, I ended up getting a little more than I was asking, the truck was loaded and had thousands in mods, you'll almost never find anyone to really appreicate it, but I did. I got $3K more than high blue book for mine. On Ebay of all places!!

Kev

I just purchased a 2001. 5 with 31,000mi with the 8 year 0r 80,000 extended warranty loaded except for leather for 25,000 from my local dealer

TNL, I must be overpriced @ $25500 for 01. 5 with tow,camper,limitedslip,etc with 26,XXX miles but is ST with no power windows,locks and has rubber floor. My problem is I owe more than I am asking. :{

Wishing the phone would ring...

I think it has to do with new vehicle financing as well. I have a 2000 SLT REGULAR CAB with just about everything you could get and more... a real "pretty truck". Anyhow, not a scratch and only 33K mostly highway miles to boot. I've posted it on the TDR classifieds and advertised it locally. Hardly a nibble. I'm asking Kelly Blue book value off the internet and that doesn't take into account several conveniece options. If someone was interested, of course I'd consider an offer, but I can't even get someone to kick the tires. Yes, I know its not a QuadCab... . but I wouldn't want to travel in that back bench... . would you? Buy my truck for a reasonable price and I'll throw in a really secure bed box for your tools and fishing rod.

I sold by beautiful 98. 5 3500 in 3 weeks for $20K. I didn't have any calls for quite some time. The first person that looked at it bought it. I had 82K on her and it was hard to let her go... but I love the new '01 HO.

Lawdog I don't think you are out of line. A dealer bought mine for $23,000 it was a 2000 3500QC 4x4 auto with 56K miles on it. Had everyting but leather and it had $3000 in hail damage on it :( that was 6 month ago. Hang in there. You might try the dealer trade sometimes you can make out.

Advertise in a Fayetteville, Arkansas newspaper. Good used Dodge CTDs are hard to come by down here. I haven't seen a single one sitting on a dealer's lot lately.

Dealer had people showing up to look at my 2001 before I even inked the deal when trading last year. Sold it same day it was traded in!

I had a tough time selling my 96 at book price. Dealer told me there is a bigger market for these trucks out West. Colorado and New Mexico especiallly if 4x4. Dont know this for sure.

Maybe some of our brothers out West can confirm. Thinking about putting my 02 on the market. Wife wants a quiet diesel:rolleyes:

Tough selling

My 99 was a tough sell (took over a year) and ended up in Las Vegas because the gent couldn't find a white 4x4 5sp qcab. Things against you is the economy sucks and the 03's are a hit and priced well with low interest rates and good rebates.

I priced out a comparably equipped 2003 and it's invoice was only $3800 more then my 99 was and the new ones have longer warranty and HO/6sp.

BTW - I put the ad here and other sites but it finally sold through the traderonline site. They are part of the Auto/Truck/Boat/ATV trader magazines.

Thanks, Maybe I will make some calls to toher area's... I need to lose the payment for a while before buying an 04. . She wants a new house, so some other payments have to go. .
