I've had my 2002 for a few months, but just noticed there's supposed to be a 'lug extension' tool with the spare tire kit and mine is missing. Anyone else not have one? What exactly does this do, and will I survive without it?
First, look again. Is there an empty pocket? I am two hours away from my truck so I can't describe it but when I first looked for mine I did not find it until I looked more carefuly. If it really is not there, talk to the dealer. You need it.
There is an empty pocket, and it's for a 2500, but it says 2500 on the little kit thingy. I haven't tried to use it with or without it, so I'm thinking it'd be good to find out before I have a flat.
It is only used on the 3500's. The 2500's do not need the extention. The same holder is used for both the only difference is on the 2500 is there is an empty pocket. It's a save money thing.
