93 d250 converted to dually axle and front hubs. I'm looking for spike lugs in 5/8"x18 or to upgrade my studs to 9/16". Anyone have a link for dually spike lugs or part numbers for lug stud set?
Just my opinion but I would not go backwards to a 9/16" stud, they put the 5/8" stud there cause with the wheel being stud centered, the stud carries the full load with no help from the hub shoulder
Mr Lugnut company made some for me years ago. They were NOT flange nuts . The older D200 had 5/8 18 thd with single wheels. They had a 45 degree taper. You can use these nuts with duel wheels . But they will NOT carry the same load as the flange nuts did. I do NOT recommend using tapered lug nuts on dual wheels ! The best thing to do is use the stock flange nuts with stainless lug nut covers. I had the covers made years ago. I should still have some . You should read my post on centering "coined" dual wheels. I wrote the service bulletin when I worked for Chrysler some 35 years ago. Call me if you have any questions
Brings me back! Around 1990, My ‘81 D350 dually had the Budd coined “stacking” wheels. I got the truck with a horrible shudder that nobody could fix. I found 2 problems after a long time of learning and diagnosing.
1, the rear wheels were cone on cone.
2. The 2 piece driveshaft was out of phase.
I saved this truck from being sent to the scrapper.
