Lukes Link clearance

Didn't get them on yet but I was looking under my truck and it looks like one of the links may come close to the passenger side sway bar bolt mount. Is this what will happen? Anybody have a problem with this? Thanks in advance... .

I have Lukes link on my track bar. I like that it has lasted longer than any trackbar I dislike that it rubs my differential cover shiney and I won't grind it down like they suggest since it doesn't clear I won't knock a dent in the cover so it won't hit either. What to do?? I don't know but the thing does last is all I can say. Clearance problems do exist.

It hits your diff. cover ,isn't that bad? Anybody else experience this?

just grind it down enough for clearence. it tells you to do this if it is a problem in the install intructions. luke posted here a while back and said it was ok to do this . plenty of meat on that part to do it.

Okay, sounds cool, did you guys remove the whole assembly under the truck to do the Lukes or did you do it another way?

I took the whole bar off. Plenty easy. Several guys posted they had the same clearance problem a few months back and were told to grind it down too. I don't know what they did but were hesitant to do any grinding either.

I ground mine and have had no contact with 20K mile +

I reported mine wearing a nice groove in my diff cover a while back. Simply put, I am not going to fix the 'fix', I shouldn't have to that. I will not grind it! I'm just going to install a different upgrade of track bar.



I can't wait to get this Luke's off so I can chuck it out into Puget sound!

Since I have the 2. 5 Skyjackers coil in front does that increase the clearance?

With the installation of the Luke's Link on my track bar on my 98 early last week this thread has raised my interest. I went back out and looked at mine on the level pavement to see if it would hit the front cover and can see it has enough clearance to miss it at the stock ride height. Is this a problem you guys are having wile street driving or doing off road excursions where travel and clearance may be in question??. One other thing to add about mine I did a little differently than most that may have helped contribute to mine clearing was the installation of a Energy Suspension Urethane bushing in the other end of the track bar. The removal of the rubber bushing,which was wore out at 71,000 miles currently on the odometer,may have helped clearances. Time will tell about the rub though,I have not seen it yet,but,then again my truck sees only street time and no dirt. I'll say this to the positive side though,with the link being rebuildable and the cost of track bars at the dealers,I do like how it can be repaired later if need be. What a difference when finished... Andy

Mine showed contact on the differential cover within 45 miles of street driving.

I recently installed the "Luke's Link" on my 96' Dodge CTD.

Like "Hammer", on level pavement mine is not hitting

at all and I did not see any "marks" or scratches where

it has hit YET! I have been off-road with it since the

install but the roads I was on were not what I would

call "extreme".



I will keep my eyes on this and want to thank everyone

for their posts!

John I guarantee that no off road place my truck goes is extreme. Pulling off the side of the road to unload fence in someone's yard is it. Mike, what kind of upgrade are you considering? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hobbled my way back out to my truck and rechecked my front suspension for any hits as it was driven at length today by a good friend of mine. I still see no signs of wear on the front cover and as John P has also said I will keep a eye out for any signs of interference with the cover and will post it here and keep an eye on this thread. I do not see how it could possibly hit,unless front shocks are worn and soft,the front springs have sagged some with age or the track bar was reinstalled incorrectly. I am not flaming anyone here but these are just some observations I have seen in mine... ... . Andy
