2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Lukes Link Update

Put in the Lukes Link Sunday. Took 3 hours. Had no problem with link hitting front pumpkin. Tested over speed bumps. Joint has zero play now. I think im gonna like it.

Did you happen to replace the bushings in the end that bolts to the axle? I did the link and replaced the bushing a couple of weeks ago. Getting that rubber out of the end of the track bar took nearly as long as doing the link. Finally burned it out with a propane torch and dug it out with a screw driver.

No way it was going to just slide out of mine.

When I got my Lukes Link I also got his Poly bushing for the axle end. My OE rubber was a ***** to get out too. The rubber came out ok but the metal cage was tough. I have a cheesy Chinise hydraulic press that helped.

No I didnt. Does that end get slop too?

Use an air hammer, it does'nt take no for an answer.

Yes. I replaced it 3 times before the ball end had any slack in it. I live on a county road.



I have had Luke's links on all my ball joints for 45K miles, no slack in any of them.
