Ditto on the Eric B product.

Bought a set from him 2-3 years ago. He was coming up to a local bomb party & brought them up for me. They go on when the frost hits. Very nice fit, I simply painted the attatching bolt heads black to go stealth install. Support your fellow members` enterprises. I have tried to send several folks his way, but only one bought a set. Thanx Eric, you saved me $50. DK.

The Napa thermostat looks different than mine did. Mine was a 2000 SO engine if it makes a difference. The thermostat contained a rubber seal that acts as a thermostat housing seal as well as a thermostat poppet seal.

Yeah I wasn't too sure on the Napa thermostat, so I called Cummins to get their price, which was ~$4 more than the Napa one.

I read on here the thermostat was $70? Maybe I misunderstood it, because ~$30 is no where near that!

Word of advice on the Lund Coldfronts. If you have them installed and go through one of those drive-in automatic car washes, the blowers on exit will blow the coldfronts out. I have done this a couple of times. Randy

Haha. I'm not sure my truck would even fit in those things. I went in one with my Jeep once, and the damn arm slammed into the back of it and about blew out a window. I was not too happy and kinda sorta took it out on the arm.

I guess there were no cameras cause I never heard anything from it... been over a year or so.

Lifetime?

I've been running the Lund inserts every winter since my '99 was new. You can remove and replace a panel as outside temperatures dictate.

One side note... a couple clips broke and I contacted Lund to see if they could send me replacements. The young lady I spoke with said, "Gee, a '99 is pretty old to expect us to replace broken parts. " I asked her how long LIFETIME WARRANTY was supposed to be! After sending in a copy of my sales receipt, Lund sent me new panels. :-laf

Cold weather fronts

I have been using baler belting for some years now fits in front of the rad and tie it to the hood bumpers with 1/8" string. I cut it to length/ height and punch holes in it to hang it vary the holes so as to space it to the outside temp. Now for the -16*C out I have the rad 3/4 's covered and it is still cold.

The other thing I used was the Cheap transport truck (black) mud flaps. Cut a 8" hole in it and that also worked very well. Both take the heat from the engine very well so they don't burn or fall apart easily. :D

I've ran the lund grill covers on my 1994 and now on my 2002 they work real good but it really is the two bumper ones that are the most effective. In fact I leave the grill ones in all year long up here in Alaska and just put in the bumper ones when the temperature drops.

Had a cover from cabelas, used the stick on snaps and in the cold weather they were pulled off as the fabric shrank, used cardboard until I got a hole in the radiator. The replacement doesent have the wire wrapings and don't like the idea of it rubbing directly on the radiator, I might have to look into some of these other ideas listed on here, thanks guys

I have had both Eric's and the Lund inserts. I prefer the Lund inserts and I personally think they are worth the extra money. JMHO

Be sure not to cover the entire grill area.

This is not a problem when covering just the grill. It is much more impoprtant to allow for airflow when you place cardboard in front of the radiator.

Nate go with the thermostat best thing I ever did to mine. I used to block rad. every winter. Now i don;t,plenty of heat I think I had a bad stat, from the start. John
