Lund Grill Inserts with Mopar Bug Shield

Has anyone tried to use the Lund grill inserts in conguntion with the Mopar bug shield/deflector?

I had the same problem that your facing right now when I bought a set of screen fronts for my 99. You need to hold up the insert to the grill and mark where the bug shield stops so you can cut the portion of the insert that makes it unable to go in. It took me about an hour, but with the right tools I'm sure it would go quicker.

Are there any other bug shields that fit in between the grill and the hood that have proven effective. I've seen some on the road that you evidently have to unbolt the grill and place the bug shield between the hood and grill.



I really don't want to cut the upper lund shields to accomodate the mopar bug shield.

Well, you could look at switching to the one of the Lund bug shields. I went with the lund on my 02, and all that required was loosening the grill from the hood and sliding the shield in and tightening everything back up.



On my 99, I only had to take about an 1/8 of an inch off, and with the dark mopar bug shield and dark screen front, you can't tell anythings been cut.
