I think the one thing that would make my truck complete is clearance lights on the roof. To facilitate this I have been planning on adding a Lund Moon visor which has them built in. However, upon looking at them on a few of our CTD's (Batman's has one without lights) I decided I do not like the way the meet onto the side of our trucks. They don't look "Built in" I guess. I also do not feel comfortable drilling holes in my roof for this piece of fiberglass.

Well after a little more research I am thinking of going with a Lund Lunar Visor which is a relative of the Moonvisors. It has the lights built in and mounts on the A Post inside the door. It seems like it would be a slick setup and solve my lack of clearance lights problem.

I however have not seen one in the flesh and was wondering if anyone has any feedback or any Pics of the product installed.

Here's a link so you know what I'm talking about.

;) Thanks for your help and Merry X-Mas and a Happy New Year :)

Visor

Don't think you will have a problem in the east with this visor, but with the roads as rough as they are, there will probably be some flex. I've seen several out in the southwest, that were partially torn off in a head wind. (75mph truck speed + 30 mph head wind= 105mph) be careful, the repairs to the roof can be real expensive. Or just install a set of factory roof markers, probably have a body shop do the install and spend less than the visor. Only drilling the first hole really hurts, and if you don't have to watch!

One other thing, you should see what a Red Tail Hawk does to one after it bounces off the grille!

A neighbor of mine had a Lund Lunar Visor on his Ford, it looked great but he hated what it did to his cab when it finally cut lose. Too much wind resistence, don't know if anything can hold one down. The OEM roof marker lights come with a template that makes drilling easy, just don't drill though your headliner.

I have seen the Lunar visor on a few Dodges. They fit great and there is no holes to drill in the roof less chance of leaks. Check them out on the Lund site. Sam.

i don't have one, but have considered adding one. i've seen a couple of rams which had one. looks good. it doesn't put any holes in the roof. mounts on the sides under the doors. if it were to come off should only break the fiberglass away from the mounts, and not hurt the truck?? it is vented to let the air that comes under the visor pass on through. it also isn't very "deep", so shouldn't catch as much air??

i have had the luner visors on my previous truck and the truck i own now. never had any problems in the years i own them. the mounting system is pretty good on the a pillar. after drilling holes i touch up bare metel and put silicone in the holes before screwing in screws.

I have the Lund Lunar Visor on my truck. It is very secure in the way it mounts. It is made out of ABS plastic, not fiberglass, and has a smooth finish on top and bottom. It has a steel bracket molded into the mounting points. The front edge is narrow, so it dosen't catch much air. There are some pictures of my truck, (Brad's Ram), in the Reader's Rigs. A little hard to see, but gives you an idea of how it looks on a Dodge.
