I really like the look of the Lund sun visors, but remember reading about some members having problems with them. I have been hesitant to go and get one because of that. I have a ranch Hand front bumper and a Deflecta shield bug shield, will these changes in the original aerodynamics of the truck cause too much turbulence at higher speeds for the visor to be safe on my truck? I really would like one but not at the expense of it being ripped off and leaving a huge repair mess for my roof.

Sunvisor

I have a Lund moon visor with the lights, no problems, looks good. Lund now has one that bolts on in the door jam, mine bolted on through the roof. If I had to do it over again I would not do it. I feel that it makes too much noise.

Visor

I had a solar visor on my 2001 2500 and had to take off my bug shield to stop the buzzing. Other than that it looked good and only buzzed in high wind gust. I got a solar because I did not want all the holes in my roof and it never came loose. But on the other hand I am not putting one on my 2003 3500 because of the buzzing and if the windshield ever needed work it has to come off before anything is done.

I had a Lund on my '92, so not sure if it's a fair comparison, but that one was not worth it to me. In the windy west, it would send noisy vibrations through the roof because of the turbulence.

Got the Lund Solar Visor on my truck. It has a metal bracket that goes across visor (inbetween top and bottom molded pieces) at all mounting points. It is made of ABS plastic, not fiberglass. It is finished on top and bottom. Metal bracket bolts to holes under door moulding. Mine won't budge at any speed.

Not that it really matters as I mostly want it for the looks, but how much shade does it provide on the dash area. I would love it if it for the most part allowed the dash to remain shaded.

It does give a little shade, not much. It only covers the tinted top portion of windshield. I am unable to see the visor at all while driving. I agree, it's mostly for looks.

I have a lunar visor. I have not noticed any extra whistle or wind noise, it is quite aero dynamic. The visor also does not require drilling the cab so if I decide to ever remove it I just take it off and the trucks back to normal.

Lund Visor

If you do get a visor stick with the solar or lunar. I have 2 friends with the sun visor, 1 with cab lights 1 without, both of them have cracks in there roof line from the visor flexing in the wind. Just a watch out.

OOPS, I have the Lund Solar, not the Vision as posted above. Corrected that post. Sorry if I caused any confusion.
