Cloaking Mode Off...

This is my first post but I’ve been lurking in the background gleaning valuable information from this board for some time - first as a non-member and as a silent member since July. I’m usually behind current discussions, so searching the archives for specific topics is my normal mode of operation.

My latest TDR archeological find is the clicking starter solenoid problem and Keith Swearingen's Diesel Electric solution posted about this time last year. I figured for $26. 33 + shipping the kit was worth a try. I received the kit and once the solenoid cover was removed it was readily apparent that the kit would take care of the problem. This was an easy and inexpensive fix. I compare this to the dealer’s price of $359. 00 for a rebuilt starter and quotes from three auto parts stores of $299. 99, $189. 99, and $174. 94 and just figured I’d say thanks to the group. I’m sure if it weren’t for this site I’d be going into the Holiday season a coupla hundred bucks short!

GeoVeo, I just went through your hometown last fri. looking for Dodge cummins diesels. We stopped at a lot, at an intersection, on 63 and drove a silver 250 4 wheel drive. It's amazing that the dealer didnt have know idea that the auto transmission was slipping, it would'nt hardly pull itself down the hill, any way we left it there. Hey welcome aboard!
