Was out to dinner with My aunt and uncle tonight and there are a couple of teenagers that come in and sit down near us. About five minutes later another guy comes in and starts telling his buddies he bought a new truck! It is a dodge and it is so sweet looking, of course as I hear this I am interested. He goes on to describe this "new" truck, and as he is talking I am thinking "That is MY truck" SO I start listening even more closely. Then he gets them up and they go out to look at it. We were done eating so we headed out too. After we pay we get out there and here is this group of teenagers standing around MY truck. I was ******. So I just silently walked up behind them as he is saying he locked his key in it and is waiting for his dad to bring the extra key. So I say "EXCUSE ME" very loud and sarcastically, hit my keyless remote get in my truck and drive away. The IDIOTS friends were laughing it up. Some people are so stupid!!!!

:D I hope you're kidding. You're kidding, right... ... ..... ? Right?

:-laf WTH? LMAO!! That has to be one of the dumbest stunts I have ever heard of... . :-laf

"EXCUSE ME"??

I woulda been like get the hell away from my truck you frig'n idiot!

I bet that was histerical to his friends though. :-laf

Poor embarrased baby. :{

Opportunities awaited

I would have played along with it BIG TIME,, I'd been like,, oh you locked your keys in the truck eh? Well, I have a dodge too,, let's see if my keys work,,, OH MY,, They Do,, I wonder if it will start... ... GOODNESS, IT DOES,,, ok, bye now..... :D

I think that I would have wanted to see how far the kid would have gone with it by saying, "here son, here's the spare keys you asked for. "

You should have gone along...

Sounds like he had his friends going big time. He was having a good time, and you could have been a part of his fun. Instead you preferred to screw him over.

Doesn't sound like he is stupid at all, more like you just wanted to steal his thunder is all.

Geeeez, lighten up guys. :p

If I see someone messing around my truck in a parking lot, I'm afraid I'd be a little POed myself.

Hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20.

Ruined his fun? He is claiming ownership of MY truck.

1. this was my dad's truck

2. I am making the payments and cleaning it and everything else

3. I don't care what kind of scam he is pulling the point is it was a scam and I HATE liars.

You feel so bad for him give him the keys to your truck.

Lighten up Jon. I was just going along with the fun. Frankly, I think that my method would have made him melt a thousand deaths--he would have had to admit to his friends that it wasn't his truck.

sorry guys I can see where the humor is coming from but I have never owned a nice truck before Everything I have ever had has been a POS and it really bugged me that he was claiming it. I have no problem with anyone liking the truck on the same hand I could care less if they didn't like it. I just want to enjoy it for myself and the fun of sharing it with people that appreciate it. But I don't feel they were going about it in a respectful manner. I apologize again if I was too harsh. it still grates though, hell if they would have asked I would have taken em out for a drive or anything, but the way the one guy was just got to me. Anyway, have a good night guys

Is this getting ridiculous or what? There was almost an arguement started here, and for what?? It's not like he walked up, grabbed the guys and said get the he11 away from truck!! He said excuse me, even it was a little sarcastic. SO WHAT!!!!

None of you other guys were there, so arguing about what he "shoulda done" is pointless.

Merrick I think your idea was pretty funny and I woulda liked to have seen that. Dresslered as well, I wonder what the kid would have done.

Baby, you have no right to tell Jon he was trying to screw the kid over, those are the kind of comments that are ruining this board.

I'm sure this will generate some negative comments, so have at it, I've got broad shoulders.

Hey Guys,

I would have detonated the C-4 and nailed the whole crowd... ... . LOL... ... . Kidding... ... only kidding.

Bottom line nobody got hurt... ..... Kinda flattering that out of all the rides in the lot he picked yours to be proud of... ... ... . Kid can't be all bad... ... ... just a little misguided. I probably would have been in the shadows for as long as I could stand it to see how it played out... ... . Remote start would have been the clincher. I would have had mixed emotions as well.

Is it just me or has the TDR now morphed into a HUGE flame fest?

I thought we were all in this for the friendship, exchange of ideas, and general advancement of the Turbo Diesel Dodge truck.

This is begining to sound like an elementary school playground. :(

I hope I'm mistaken, and we can all try to get this site back on track. :)

Just think, someday when that kid gets his CTD and joins TDR his first post will be, "This is really my second Cummins, the first one was stolen right before my very eyes while I was showing it to my friends. ";)
