Ok we have an official sponsoring hotel for “Fall Brawl 2003”. Hilton Garden Inn

550 E Main St

Hummelstown, PA 17036

The hotel has extended a flat rate of $85 per night for both Friday October 3rd and Saturday October 4th. In order to receive this rate you need to contact them directly at: 717-566-9292 and ask for the Fall Brawl rate. The rooms will be available until the hotel is sold out.

For those of you wanting somewhere to camp I recommend Hershey Highmeadow Campground

1200 Matlack Road

Hummelstown, PA 17036

Phone: 717-534-8999

Both of these locations are less than ½ mile apart so it should make for a fun time hanging out. They are both centrally located between the dyno shop and the raceway.

Doug

Sounds like you are doing a good job there Doug!!!! I was just wondering what time the racing is gonna start? Will there be one big caravan of Rams to the track? That would be cool!!!

Larry

p. s. looking forward to seeing ya Doug. Its been awhile

Ok thing to address first...

For those who have emailed me and Doug both about the classes, they have been all posted and will stand as stated above. IF your running anything other than standard #2(meaning a mister, propane,Giggle Gas,methanol, etc, etc)it will considered as run-what -ya-brung. One thing we can not police is additives so we have decided to address it this way,For the #2 class only over the counter additives will be allowed(example-PowerService,FPPS,Standyne,Red Line,Amsoil, etc, etc). We do not have the technology to test fuels and hope you can understand why we won't. Guys, this is supposed to be a fun event and not meant to be cheated at. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT CHEATING DURING DYNO/DRAG RACES(meaning not being legal as classes are stated above)you will forfit all right to any chance at sponsor prizes and if you have not dynoed you will forfit your chance period. IF Doug and I have to tech trucks it will be done, let us not get to that.

Now on to other notes as of now...

Other vendors chiming in so far...

Double S Diesel

Forrest City Diesel

We will need to see who has to dyno Saturday and who can spin on Sunday so let us know which will suit better. Keep in mind with Fall Carlisle and the Apple Harvest Festival there is plenty of other things happening in the area so motels and camping will be a tough go. The Apple Harvest festival in Arndtsville,PA is a close by happening for those wives who come and wish to do something else. I'll make sure I have a map to there for any who desire to go.

One final quick note from Us. .

Those who are planning to use the shop for work, must dyno first. Ernie graciously gives us all his facility, tools and guys to do the jobs needed(ask Trevor Crike when you meet him about that) and its only fair that those who work roll first.

WE,The M-D TDR,would like some volunteers for Sunday afternoon to help with clean-up. The dyno room will be wiped down and all trash gathered to help the guys there. Anyone interested please chime in and thanks... ... ..... Andy

Hey Andy,

this is gonna be a one day event for me. I have some family events going on that Sunday so i would prefer to spin on Saturday. I am not sure about the racing yet. I will know better as the time draws near. One more thing about work to be done. I am getting a COMP box from ADT at the event. Andy is gonna help me with the install. My question to you: Is that considered work that would make me have to spin first? I would like to wait until after the COMP is installed so i can see the difference it makes. Let me know Andy(HAMMER). See all you guys in Oct.

Larry

Larry,

I believe the intent here is to be sure guys who use Kauffman's shop to wrench on their trucks pay to dyno. We should be able to work out something where if you want to use the shop you must signup and pay for your dyno run prior to wrenching.

What we are trying to accomplish is compensation to Kauffman's for using their shop. If guys come in and work on their trucks without dynoing then Kauffman's extracts nothing from it. Ernie and his gang are very gracious with our group and we do not want for he or any of his employees to feel taken advantage of.

Doug

Hey Larry, One thing with the COMP it doesn't take any special tools. I did mine with the truck setting in the driveway. I'm sure Andy (ADT) can do your box in 30 mins or so. I can hear your transmission screaming from here. DTT here you come. You will love the extra power. Jeff:-laf :-laf

Sleddy...

As the winds of change we all know still blow,so does the rampant rumor mill pipeline. It has been already heard from a source nearby to you that BOTH you and Jetpilot are going to get the Code Red whipping of a lifetime and be put into your PROPER places,2nd & 3rd. Seems all your psycho-babble between the two of you has brought another red truck from its hiding place all nestled and warm. Rumors have stated he is coming to whip you and Doug like the dogs you are... LOL :D :D :D .

Oh,BTW,did I forget to mention I got a email from someone about coming who says he has whipped you already and will educate you in dyno HP and tactics. Man this deal is going to be a ripping good time... ... ... . Andy

Doug... .

i understand totally what you mean. that makes sense i myself and i am sure other guys too don't want to see Ernie and his crew get the short end of the stick. My work will be able to be done outside the shop so i won't affect that whole situation.

Jeff... .

i hope the old girl doesn't scream too BAD!!!! LOL i am trying to save for my transmission upgrades now so hopefully she'll hold on til i can get the money saved!! I am not gonna hook up the pump wire yet so I should be ok. You and Andy(ADT) have assured me that i should be ok. If i can keep my foot out of it(yeah right) i'll have a better chance.

Hammer... .

that little red truck doesn't happen to be hiding near Pittsburgh does it??:D

Hey Larry, I know what you mean. I tread litely with my right foot. With the pump wire hooked up I'm careful with the stock clutch. Are you getting the pump cover for the future? It works great.

I'm up in the air if I'm going to dyno or not. Jeff

:D :D

What time is Kauffmans going to start off on Saturday? Want to make sure I get there early enough to spin those rollers with my 2 trucks. Hopefully I can get someone to drive my other truck. And is anyone wanting to convoy over to Dillsburg from the Lancaster area... anybody interested... ... ... ... ... John

Kauffmans

Jeff K. Dont worry bout the clutch. i did 405 /895 last year w/ a DDufm and DD-3's on a STOCK clutch. you aint gonna hurt it on the dyno! daves very knowlegable on the slippage factor. hell tell you if its a prob. start on 3/5 then work your way up. when i finally pulled the clutch at 20k it realy wasnt that bad. and that was 12k of abuse.

Just my . 02$ Scott

pump cover

Hey Jeff... ... call me dumb or just unknowledgeable, but what is the pump cover? What does it do and how does it work??

Larry

I highly doubt Andys truck will still be running... ..... If it is right now.....

New dyno style this year:

Put on pulling tires, 4rth gear, 5000 rpm, slip clutch to meet engine.

Take reading.

Read it and weep, wus boys, who don't race, don't pull. :D

Yeah you are probably right Gene... I might as well just plan on bringing my girlfriends Chevy gasser like I did last year...

Or NOT... :-laf

WOW, This could really be AWESOME !:D It will finally be nice to get to meet some of the faces behind the names. I havent been to this before so it should be interesting. It will be good to to also meet some of the vendors. Are there any other motels in this area, good eating establishments etc. Also , exactly what town/city are we going to be in. Is the dyno set up at the track or are they at two different locations? Just trying to get the info to set up the weekend.
