We're Coming!

Viv and I are coming, bringing our gas grill, some beans (alternative fuel).

I'm gonna dyno. Been hearing the ETH's don't upgrade as well as the ETCs. Well, I transferred all my power upgrades from my ETC to my ETH, so we'll see what the dyno says.

From out of the great Northeast depending on what time your leaving will determine which way to run. Fastest way to Kauffman's,depending on traffic,is this...

-I-95 South to I-287 West over the Tappan Zee Bridge,

-I-287 West to I 287 South thru Jersey,

-I-287 South to I-78 West,

-I-78 West to I-81 south to Harrisburg PA,

-I-581 West to US RTE 15 South,

-Follow US 15 South past the PA tpke and go thru Dillsburg(As you come into Dillsburg you will see a large Rutters store on the right,McDonalds on left. keep going south you'll pass a Wendy's then a golf course on your right and begin up a hill),

-About 6-7 miles south of town you'll see a small fruit stand on the left called Worley's(its kinda run down a little)

-At this intersection turn left onto Latimore Valley road and follow my directions above.

Doug and I are going to put some signs out so you can find it a little easier. Ernies shop is not hard to find once you've been there,LOL,but easy to miss. I'll drop you a PM with my cell number and make sure Scott has it also if it will help.

The link to Kauffman's is below this post for you with their directions if you'd like to look them over. Look forward to seeing you all then... ... . Andy

fall brawl

Nice prizes to be won but we can't win unless we dyno.

Count me out for the weekend and forget me when you send renewals for the chapter.

Why do I care, I have never won anything in my life (other than my wife) but I still buy tickets and hope. In our I mean your chapter I can't even do that.

Interesting concept- don't enter a race, but still want to be eligible for the prize money.

Lets see, what did I get at Scheids for a 12th place finish? BROKEN PARTS. Not even a key chain. Or a piece of paper that says, "I broke my truck!"

So we need door prizes also, is that what you are saying?

I will throw in an Amsoil hat and T-shirt, and a can of Cetane boost, for door prizes.

I also have a number 5 TST plate if anyone wants to try it.

A note to those who have emailed about the show with concerns. .

We are only doing as we have been asked to by those who have provided the certificates to us for the show. There are many of you who have emailed me directly now saying that you will not come due to the way its being handled that day with those prizes. As I today looked over the numerous posts on who is coming and the emails I had saved from those who did not post that had said they were coming I see only a few who have now reconsidered due to this. My question to those who did send me the emails with their reconsiderations is this,If you were all ready to come when we had nothing to offer except a good time(plenty of food, stories, trucks to look and diesel smoke to eat)what would make you change your mind??. We still have all that to offer nothing has changed.

This is the begining of something we want to do on this weekend yearly and with it being the first one like it(all of the boards together)how can we improve on it without attendence to know where we made a mistake. One thing will never change as time goes on,our committment to the sponsors who graciuosly allow us to make things better, what they want we will try to accomodate,it has to be that way or they will not welcome any thought of participating again. Is that something we can agree on?.

Our intentions were and still are to make this a good time for all who attend and not to upset our membership or to make it look like one mans chapter only. Those who have sent me the emails I have answered you directly and would hope you reconsider and to those who will come regardless I look forward to seeing you all there... ... ... . Andy... M-D TDR Event Coordinator

Well said Andy. You don't have to be HP junkie to have a good time at these gathering, but we should support the vendors that support us.

Andy. On another food note. What about coffee and donuts. I'll get enough donuts for the clan. Should I rent one of the 40 cup peculators and bring it?

Let's keep it together...

Friends:

I just want to say I appreciate the efforts Hammer and JetPilot are taking to put this event together. I think the prizes are a nice addition. I planned on coming well before the prizes were announced and I think how the prizes are dispersed is fair and reasonable.

I hope all our members will positively support chapter gatherings and contribute by sponsing/hosting events along the way. We are a chapter to recognize, promote share common bonds of owning the finest truck/engine combo produced.

Finally, I hope valued members and friends will reconsider quiting the chapter or not coming to the event. Let's get together and have fun as we always do.

i dont understand what is going on with that guy who doesnt like the idea of free gifts jsut for dynoing. i think this meeting is going to be great, alot or people, beer, and tons of smoke. and it is going ot be the best bc my truck is finally going to spin the drum, this was decided even b4 there were vendors there giving I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER away that isnt important, it is going to be a great day, thanks to alot of great people putting it together, c u all there

fall brawl

OK I guess I have to explain myself. I owe that to the membership and to you Andy. Especially Andy because you have done much for the MD TDR. So here it is good or bad.

This chapter was formed last year and I was one of the original members. I really thought it was great. It seemed to me, to be a great way to exchange info and to gather to socialize and talk and look at our trucks.

Additionally, we gathered for events like the dyno, sled pulling and drags. I enjoy them all but do not participate in them. I believed that the dyno was just one part of our get together and that the various prizes were donated to the chapter for the good of the chapter. Sort of like last years Cummins sotre prize, the palm pilot, the winner of which was to share it with the membership. Perhaps I was wrong in all of my assumptions. If so then I am sorry.

The prizes were not the draw for me. As Wiredawg said, I was anzious to come just for the fun without regard to give aways. I just didn't think it was handled properly.

Sledpuller Maybe that answers your question about expecting a prize without entering the race. I never thought that the chapter was formed just to dyno, drag race, and sled pull. I don't pull a sled, I don't drag and therefor I don't dyno because it matters little to me how many horses my truck possesses.

So for me it was just a missunderstanding as to the reasons for which the chapter was formed.

Sorry for the long post and thanks.

Change of Plans

Will still be coming, just won't be camping. #$it Happens. **ICEMAN**, FFUTCH, WIRENUT, I will be at the park-n-ride on Saturday morning for the caravan to PA.

John

Meeting time

**ICEMAN**, 6:15 is fine with me.

Cobra: I hope you will reconsider. A lot of us will not be elegible for any of the "prizes", since you are either "bone stock" or "bombed to the max". those of us with moderate improvements aren't considered either unless we dyno, but that's not enough reason to quit . I've enjoyed talking with you and even camping with you in the past and all this was done without the potential for "prizes".

John

KennyM, Sorry not to reply till now. Are you coming down 70 from 32? If so, I'll meet you on 70 just past the 97(GA Ave) exit. Exit 78. If not I can meet you near Mt. Airy. Let me know. Tom W. , Are you going? If so want to meet near Mt. Airy & 70?
