What I have now is an '01 HO with a Comp, 4" exhaust, studded head, and relocated lift pump. AFE filter and 14cm housing are on the way. I have talked with Peter at South Bend and identified an appropriate clutch. And yes, all the nessecary guages are in place. Now, as to where I am going with it: twins. More specifically my HX35/14 on top of a BHT3B/26. Without any further information, the answer is obvious-2. 5's. However, it may be a bit of time before I start on the twins which means that I will be running only an HX35 with a 14 housing for some time. If I go with Mach 2's, I realize I will be leaving some power on the table but would much rather do that than have my egt's running out of control. Before the dark forces took hold, I was only planning on DD2's and a boost fooler. I actually decided to go with twins for additional cooling and to better use the extra fuel. Then came dreams of fueling boxes and EDM injectors and... ..... I'm sure many of ya'll know what I'm talking about. Anyway, my point is I never intended to go for anywhere near this much power, so it won't be a disappointment if I have to go with Mach 2's and leave a little power on the table in order to keep the egt's in check. I realize that it can be controlled with my right foot, but I also realize that there is a point where there is too much fuel (heat) for the HX35 to deal with, I just don't have a clue as to where that point is. If I can turn the box down or off and be halfway sensible with the throttle and run the Mach 2. 5's, then that's what I want to do, but if I have to run Mach 2's, then I will do it and still have way more power than what I originally intended. I am just asking for opinions from those who know more about this than I do.

Well then, seeing as how you are a flatlander and state that you are not gonna tow heavy, I would go with the 2. 4's or 2. 5's. Excellent choice. For every tenth it is 2. 5hp so if DonM rates his 2's at 105hp then with 2. 5's you are looking at 12. 5hp over that and the cost is the same as 2's. They are on sale this month so give Rip Rook a call at www.sourceautomotive.biz.
