Its injector time in the neighborhood! The heaviest I tow is my 67 camaro. Car and trailor weighs 7,000 pounds. Mods so far is Edge EZ, MBRP 4" turbo-back, gauges and rebuilt custom fuel system. I have my eyes set on Mach 4's but I need to listen to other opnions.

Thanks,

Sean

I've got an EZ and Jammer 2's - not quite as much as Mach 4's but I also tow heavier - about 11K#. I saw a 150-200* drop in EGT with the 2's versus stock.

I don't think you'll have any problems towing that light with M4's. I would bet you won't see a drop in EGT like nps has, but you shouldn't expect to with bigger injectors.

Throw 'em in and drive it.

The Mach 4's are awesome injectors. With the stock turbo, you will build some heat towing or not. Be ready to control the heat with your right foot. The 6 speed with the HX35 will do better then the auto with the HY35, plus you can drop a gear if things start to get to warm. For my tastes, I would plan on upgrading your turbo to at least a 35/40 hybrid, to make full use of the 4's and the EZ. When I had that combo it was awesome.

I would suggest giving Rip (Source Automotive) a call at: 866 211-1533. He will get you setup with what you need.

I've got mach 2's, at altitude where I live under a heavy load I have to feather the throttle to keep EGT's sane. I have the stock exhaust which does pose a problem, but I can literally peg my EGT gauge if I stand on it. I keep 1300 sustained up a very long grade with a very large load and haven't had any issues yet. I can do the speed limit up that grade, it's quite impressive. I can only imagine how bad it would be with 4's. If I towed more i'd look into a turbo. If your just doing it occasionally I think you could manage the 4's just be careful.

I've had no EGT issues with my M4s and stock turbo (6-speed). This, at 6000 feet and empty.

My experience with the M4s suggests that light towing with them would be perfectly fine even with a stock charger.

A stock auto trans with the smaller turbine side could be another story.

In the end, here's what it boils down to: how many people to you hear about wishing they had SMALLER injectors?

I dumped my dd2s for M4s and haven't been happier. My clutch is somewhat less happy, hehehe.

Just do it... . Heck I tow 7K regulary with mach 5's and a stock turbo. Just watch the EGT gauge on really long climbs. Even at hight elevation I was cool. So 4's should be sweet.

I love my M4's. Coupled to a box that adds a little timing, it's awesome.

You could use a comp to help out with low boost smoke and this will help keep the EGTs down as well. I have towed over 12K with my setup and no issues at all. It will get hot if I try to bury the throttle, but if you allow the motor to spin, it'll be fine.

RPM cures a bunch of issues when towing!

Crap, I just ordered a set of Mach 2. 5s today. I was thinking that would be about all my turbo could handle. Reading this makes me think I should have just gone with some 4s.

Todd, what with the CaTCHER you already have & the new Mach 4's. you are going to need a clutch upgrade very soon. Other than that, you are going to be all :D :D :D 's

Great info! Late last night my dad killed my VP44, threw a 1689 and 1693 and started running like crap and then died!!! It is being towed into to the dodge house after I pull the EZ off of it. Thank God I only have have 62k on the clock. So it is being warrentied. When I get it back, Mach 4's will be waiting for her.

Kinda off subject but how long will it take the dodge house to fix the truck?

Thanks,

Sean

Thats what I figured. At first I was looking just for a mild upgrade in injectors to go with my original V/A. Now I have the Catcher, B/C FMS(not installed yet! :-laf ) and a set of Mach 4s on the way...

I see some studs,manifold, clutch and a turbo on the way real soon. If the wife only knew... ... :-{}

Couple of hours to change a VP44 by a good tech, once he has parts and gets onto the job.

With those codes, don't be surprised if it comes back the first trip with just a lift pump. Did you have good FP? (do you have gauges? If not, get them before the Mach 4's)

If your pump is bad you will also be getting the new intank pump under a warranty job.

Got a call from the local Dodge house yesterday after noon. The VP44 is getting replaced under warranty. I had a chat with a real nice tech and he will leave my lift pump system alone, he thought it was a real nice system I had installed. It is done in all -8an and -6an with a mallory 140 pump. Should have her back this afternoon or in the morning.

Yes I have gauges, (EGT, Boost, and fuel pressure) pressure is 16psi @ idle and 10psi @ WOT. I will be ordering mach 4's soon.

Thanks,

Sean
