I recently installed a set of Don M's EDM Injectors. They are GREAT!

I wanted bigger injectors than the DD#3's that have served me faithfully for the last 1. 5 years.

With the new (mach 6. 5 160-170HP) injectors I have a smooth Idle, They have awsome bottom end and I finally have enough fuel to keep the stacks black when running down the track with the Drag comp on FULL. I am planning on trying out a few sets of the 3. 0's and 4. 0's in my customers that tow heavy. .

I live at 6,000 feet and can drive around without any defueling from my comp to keep smoke down in friendly traffic. The Truck is very responsive and then when I turn on the Fueling Box... :D :D

I don't want to mislead you! they will smoke heavy if you push the throttle but you can keep the smoke down without much effort. I pop tested them with my Injector tester and they had a Beutiful Misty round spray pattern.

I am towing a 34ft Trailer to the Roswell NM DixionsDieselPerformance Drag Races this weekend so I will see how the HWY speed Egt's are pulling the Hills.

Can you tell me more about your new turbo the KSB-1Bex4 Turbo? Is this similar to a HX-40? Does it move more air and does it spool up like a 40? Is the shaft bigger than the 40's also? And what boost do u wastegate it at? Is it a external or internal wastegate? Could you maybe post some pictures of it also? I'd appreciate your response. I'm lookin for a turbo thats similar to a 40, but maybe more reliable. :D

ALE8-1,

The KSB-1B Ex4 is a new version of my B-1 Bomber turbo. The "KS" Is the Kwiker Spooling housing and the "1B" means it has a different Turbine wheel that also spools it faster then the Standard B-1 Turbine wheel. And the "ex4" means that the KwikSpool housing has a slightly smaller flange so it clamps up to the HX40 style down pipes. The B-1 turbos are very durable and all have a BIG shaft and can handle much more power than a HX40 based design.

This model has no wastegate and can be pushed to 60 psi or more when used on High Horsepower trucks. BUT I recomend a external wastegate to get the most topend performance and EGT reduction. Most B-1 owners report a 400 deg average egt drop. I expect even further reductions and larger HPGains with the different wastegate setups we are testing.

Most of the current B-1's with a standard size housing have Dual internal wastegated housing but we have locked them shut. This worked fine up to a point. Now that fueling and Rpm levels have greatly increased we are almost ready to release a wastegate controller for these Turbo's currently in use. current B-1 owners should experiance a increase in HP/Torque due to the control of Turbine drive pressures. It will take less than 10 - 20 minutes to install.

We also now have the K-45 and KSK-45 turbos available in a few different configurations. The are Lighter duty then the B-1's but have nearly the same size compressor with even less lag.

There are so many possible combinations now that it is best to call or email with your truck specs and driving habits... etc

Kurt. . is that the Don M of the past. . was in Dallas some of the time for work??? If so. . met him at some of the Dyno events in Dallas... Great guy. . didn't know he had his own products. . but I know he was working on some things...

Bryan

Yes, Don M. is Don Morrison that used to hang out here until he got into too many oil wars making the amsoil guys mad. They kicked him and many other fine guys out because of their opinions.

He now hangs out on

His injectors have gotten great reviews and more people are trying them out. Don knows his stuff.

hi kurt how smooth are these injectors at part throttle do they surge like the big extrude honed injectors. my mega mentals surge pretty bad at part throttle... . i know what your thinkin, what are ya doin with race injectors at part throttle?well i have to get to the track some way. i want a big injector that is smooth at all rpm & throttle positions. you know race injectors that you can put in & forget about but still streetable. i gotta have more fuel to spin my new b1 turbo... :)

Thanks Charles, yes that is the Don M. I know. . hahaa. . He and his Oil wars. . I just met him at one of the dyno days in Dallas... Great guy... U know if He has a web site?? Thanks

Bryan

Welcome Bryan. I don't think he has a web site, but you can email him at

-- email address removed --

I saw him at the last DFW dyno days on 3/15/03 and he dyno'd 523 HP on #2 diesel.

Thanks. . I have been busy and the past dyno days at DFW have been weekends that I have been off tractor pulling... I believe it was almost a year ago... Good numbers for Don. . He was having some problems with his truck the day I saw him run. . I think he was in the low 400s... (It seemed good to me... . but not what he was looking for. . ) Maybe I'll be able to make one of the next dyno days...

propuller,

These are as smooth at idle as my DieselDynamics Stage3's. From idle they bring boost in clean and the torque increase to smoke level is very good. They pull without any surging throughout the entire rpm range whether you are putting around (like me) or driving like Katdiesel ;) .

When I ordered them I asked Don to make me some large injectors that would smoke down the track when I was drag Racing / Sled Pulling But keep them somewhat streetable as I didn't always want to swap them out at the track before I drove Home.

To make a lonnng post even longer :p I put them in ; drove them for a day (400 miles) and then put my DD'3s up for sale. I have to say the DD'3's are still one of my favorites for street/strip They were dependable easy starts with good mileage and in my truck 14. 2 sec ET.

I am going to try some of Don's smaller mach 3, 4, & 5's for my RV and Rancher customers. I will post results when I get more testing done. KobraKwikKurt:)
