I want to get mach 1. 6 or possibly 4's injectors for my 2002 dodge and i was wondering if anyone knows any local places in NJ that carry them. i didnt get a chance this week to order any and was free this weekend and thought if i could come up w them id go for it. any info is greatly appreciated :-laf

Mach 6

Friend has a set of Mach 6's that he is selling very reasonable. No core charge either. As far as buying new your gonna have to go with a few of the F1 authorized dealers.

6s are way to big for you... I got my 4s from Olee lightening fast shipping. LOVE them! BTW even the 4s get hot with the Drag Comp and B1...

The mach 4's are going to be way to much for the BD super B. I had 90 hp injectors with that turbo and could still peg 1600. I see also you have a stage 2 intake make sure you keep an eye on the tube that hangs over the turbo. I started a thread about a month ago warning people of the plastic tube melting from the heat of the turbo. Here is a link to it.

Z If I remember right the BD super B is only 54ish mm. its smaller than 60 i know that for sure.

Depending upon your future plans. Go with the M4's if have any plans at all of upgrading your turbo later on. Having done so, in my case, would have saved me some money. I went M1's ---> M4's and wasted some cash in the process. The M4's perform very well in my truck.

If you tow allot and tow heavier stuff forget what I just typed. But if your truck is used mostly used unloaded I believe you would really enjoy the M4's.

see thats where im having trouble deciding i may sum day do the twin upgrade but dunno when and what else id have to chage to do that and i dont tow every single day heaviest things i tow is a boat and a dump trailer and i snowplow in the winter i dunno if that matters. any info you guys have would really be appreciated . who thought such a small upgrade would be so hard to choose :{

With my setup (Smarty + Mach 1. 6 + HX35), I pretty much tow by the pyro. Not that EGTs are hard to control, I'm just a compulsive gauge watcher when towing and a smoke control nanny when empty. Most of my driving is empty and I often wish I'd just gone to M4s and been done with it. Then I wouldn't feel like I still had an injector step to go. Most of my upgrades have been small increases, satisfying but not exciting. The possible exception was the Edge Comp, which I couldn't fully utilitize without burning down the house anyway.

My turbo selection is hamstrung by my elbow mounted exhaust brake. Your inline brake makes turbo upgrading a much less painful proposition. There are so many turbo variables that you're better off getting your fueling and driving style in order, then buying a turbo that fits your needs.

Maybe the M3. 5s will be too good a deal to pass up ;);)

Take the plunge Boondocker and take off that turbo mounted exhaust brake and sell it for what you can get. Then install a remote mounted one. I am much happier with my trucks perfomance. Sometimes these days I think that I am finally there.

Sometimes, anyways.....

The M4's were the most driveable injector I have used. 24MPG at 70+mph.

Lower smoke than the old stlye M3's they replaced.

I drove M4's for a long time without temp issues or major drawbacks. I was running a Comp back then and the defuel feature on level 1 was my best friend. Yes, I could peg the pyro at will. But sensible driving allowed me to drive a PDR35 just as well as the stock setup.

If you plan to upgrade, go witht he 4's. Or you'll be kicking yourself later. What I get a kick out of is everyone complains about allt he heat when towing. I don' have any issues towing. I just don't push the go pedal as far.

i agree it all makes sense i mean obviously if you lug it your gonna have higher temps. does you truck still idle normal and everything like that and how much weight do you tow. thanks

Heck just get the 6s, fire ring it and buy my twins... problem solved :)

Dave,

Were you running a 12cm housing with that PDR 35 back then?

Yes to all the above in my case.

IMO the Mach 4's seem to be right near the pinnacle of Formula 1's production line-up for 2nd Gen injectors. This is for about the average bomber. The claims about less smoke, less heat, and of course more power has held true for me.

With the TST at full tilt the M1's smoked more and continuesly under hard acceleration. Talking to another fellow, he said his M1. 6's were about the same. I never ran the M4's with out my twins. Under the same conditions with the twins, the M1 vs M4 the M4's burn cleaner for me. Typically it is a rather large cloud of grey smoke (not black) between shifts then it cleans up for the most part. Maybe some grey haze on warmer days.

I tow in the 13-15K GVW range --> no problems with EGT and no big problems with smoke if I shift correctly. If I do get to 1200F a downshift to 4th cures the problem. Unloaded I have a free reign to all the power.

The M4's can add allot of fuel, 150 hp worth, so you have to have a turbo system that can cool that amount to use them to their full potential. Until then, as Dave states, if you don't get crazy they would be relatively easy to drive around. I know of more than one person who uses or has used M4's as a daily driver with a hybrid turbo and one guy (might have upgraded by now) was using a stock turbo.
