MNTDR questions

My buddy is being a bit cranky about any of you guys comming along for the tear down. Something about "strangers and knowing where he lives" and some BS.

If I had a garage, I would do this at my place and be done with it, so I'm kinda at his mercy here on this.

This sucks...

I guess I can understand his reasoning here. Everyone has different levels of comfort with things like this. I am cautious as well inviting people to the house only after I feel I know their character enough to understand they are reasonable and decent people.

The offer stands for me. That goes for both the transmission jack adapter and/or an active hand in doing it if your buddy can reach the needed comfort level. I wish my new shop/garage was done and I'd say bring it over here, but alas, it will probably be 3 or 4 months until I get that finished.

Yes, I will need the Trans adapter for sure. . Thanks for your help thus far. I'll see what happens over time.

I can understand why he would do such a thing. I also think that taking someone along can help with a lot of grief though. You can make the change easy an uneventful, or you can make it as miserable of a job you want. Some times a learning curve is a good thing. Not that there is anything really hard about it, just stating sentence for other things down the road.

I agree with you 110% Spicy. I agree with my buddy as well.

I have been on the Internet, BBS, ect about as long as some of you not-so-old timers been wrenching on cars (geez, time has flown, I wanna say 20 years now?). Yeah, I'm young, but I see n the entire thing start when the PC just started to get into the homes back in the mid 80's. You learn a few things in this time frame. :)

It's a 6th sence about these encounters you gota have. I have met a bunch of you guys at TDR meets, so I'm ok with this my self. but it's understandable about how my buddy feels.

As for doing it blindly. I'm sure it's not entirely to different from my XJ. The drive train is just "bigger" with the truck. I have the 2005 service manual PDF on hand as well for any specs.

And personaly, I feel the best way to learn is trial an error. It's just when you don't have a backup, and error that can be costly are the ones I would love to advoid. :)

Ok, things look good!!!!!!

Once my paycheck is in the bank on the 7th. I'm good to order my new fangled clutch from SBC!

I need to move some funds around here and there. But I suspect Thursday or friday I'll place the order

Friday the 24th we can tear things down at the earliest!

I don't mind waiting a bit, but we'll see.

Jason, let me know when you want to pick up the tyrany jack adapter. You can pick it up at my place in Lakeville, or I can bring it to work in Eden Prairie and we could meet up there. Either way is fine with me. You may also want to have a 2nd floor jack on hand to help out with the crossmember or anything else that decides to be stubborn or stuck.
