Timing on ALL Edge products is the same and can not be adjusted up or down.

The Comp and it's sublevel routines adjust fuel amount and delivery parameters only, not timing.

DWest, you didn't mention if you have the 'special' program or not. You should with the DDUFM. Either get it reflashed to a special or get a fueling only box.

As for the cruise control, mine started doing this with the injector install and has gotten worse with each upgrade. It works fine with the trailer hooked up, cause the load doesn't allow the speed to increase as fast as empty. From what I understand, the ECM is trying to add enough fuel to accelerate the truck in stock form. Once the performance mods are in place, that same throttle position will add a bunch more fuel creating the surging and jerking. Not a problem as much as a side effect of the BOMBs. Mine is a lot less quirky with the Comp turned off.

now that the special has had a proper introduction and all the fog is gone...

are most boxes generic?

A> Edge EZ: timing only with boost fool. But what about Diablo-PP or bully-PP or predator or Van A or DDttm or super chip all the same?

B> Edge Comp: timing w/boostfool and fuel. Drag/comp the same with fuel above 3200. But what about DDupm or tst comp or xzillaraider?? what else

and where do TST 1/2/3 fit in could it be a good stacker if only fuel?

What about new products like Sniper Tuning who claim to have tuned the fastest Powerchoke

What is the consequenses/benifits to stacking and how

AM I guessing right here

I certainly cant buy them all and try or see whats what

Sorry if I hijacked the thread but not sure what qualifies

Beast2B: I'm relacing the VP44 weds. night, wondering if some of the problems are related. My wife drove the truck last weekend and was all over the place with the foot speed. It's no doubt that the extra throttle response from the catcher takes some getting use to. The cruise control issue could cause me to send it back. Bob had all my vehicle info but don't remember anything about a special Mad Ecm. My email to him had the DDbox on the list. of mods. DW

David, I have you marked down for the special flash, If you want to try an exchange please let me know.

Thanks

Bob: Cruise is much better with the box off, less surge. Won't be sending this back as it's too much fun to drive now that the VP44 has been replaced and is back to normal. DW

Bin waitin for reply to Rivercat's post(by someone more sure than me) but I think he's right. Way I unnerstand it all the 70 hp boxes are fuel only and they can only get so aggressive. When I got my Catcher I was told I wouldn't need/notice if my Quadzilla 70 hp box was on or off (I did,esp climbing steep grades).

Can a special MAD a Edge comp or a small tst powermax1or2 be stacked?

The way I take this is the catcher is a nice inprovment over an EZ for use with smaller sticks and little else BOTTOM LINE!

For towing and what not from stock to 90hp injectors and thats it.

I don't want a war just prove me wrong if I am and I will go sit in the corner...

As a MAD ecm owner im not a non-beliver as I have $762 of faith in it. Maybe just a misunderstood customer, as to the true capabilitys of the product.

a comp and a tst would both tap the pump wire and would not be advised

In all due respect I had planned to tap the wire all along.

I also thought that this box had a use for higher hp setups 500+ and I don't see it being good for anything over 350

2002 fed 6sd regular MAD ECM for swap/exchange with 2002 fed 6sd special

my comment was you don't want to stack two wire tap boxes at the same time

If you send me you standard, I will send you a special. I have it in stock

TDR Member CB just hit

thats not saying it is more powerful than a comp combo or as smooth

post a figure for the exchange

Ok, I sold the other 02/6sp/fed/spl catcher so if you send me your catcher I will send it to marco with the next batch.

price is no charge

ok, random question, but I'm still kinda new to all this bombing stuff... what is meant by 'pump wire' or 'pump tap wire'? Does my Edge EZ have one?

Pump wire refers to the VP44 injection pump. When you "tap" the wire, you provied a path for an aftermarket box to affect how the injection pumps fuels, or adds fuel. This is the primary method of getting big gains of power with an electronic box. The EZ does not do this. It plugs in and does not offer the power gains of a comp, redline, tst, ect.

So, if you want more power from a box, you have to step up to a comp. If you want to stay in the same family of product.

I just happen to know where there is a drag comp for sale too. ;)
