More or less on subject.

Anyone care to explain "Fueling Box" and "Timing Box"?

Thanks;

JimF

The easiest description is that boxes add fueling. Some do this with additional timing, some add no timing, only fuel. And the amount of timing varies from each manufacture.

Does that help?

Thanks FG, pretty much a rooky here. Still not getting it.

So what I understand about injection is that the VP will inject fuel at the correct piston / crank position, for example 13 degrees BTDC advancing with higher RPM. Also, depending upon throttle position, the duration of the injection with vary, for example 2ms at idle / 5ms at WOT.

So when you say "Timing" does that mean does that mean the timing in relation to TDC or the actual time of the injection duration?

When you say "Fueling", is the injection pump able to vary the injection rate? For example xx volume of fuel at idle and yy volume of fuel at WOT but holding the duration of the injection constant.

Thinking of getting a Catcher ECM, but other wise just curiosity.

Thanks;

Jim
