Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6 a. m. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRILANKA),designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA).
After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend
today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA)he got in his car! (MADE IN GERMANY) and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day,Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and
turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA),and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in..... AMERICA.....

Everyone can not be a Whitecoller Worker, Some People are Happy being Skilled Blue Coller Types.

The real sad part about it is some CEO is making 250,000,000. 00 on the goods made in China,Mexico,India,etc. While the people in these countrys are making a dollar a day in sweatshop conditions!Its called "GREED"!!!

THIS IS SO EASY AND SENDS A BIG MESSAGE.

Are we Americans as dumb as we appear or is just that we
do not think? While the Chinese held our plane and its crew hostage,
(they are free now, thank the Lord) presumably to get more time to inspect
the plane, the media wrangled its hands and criticized the Bush
Administration for perceived errors.
Yet 70% ofAmericans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the
Chinese should be suspended.
Well, duh. . why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges? DO
IT YOURSELF!!

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says "Made
in China" or "PRC" (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply choose another
product or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on
Chinese products, however you will be equally amazed at what you can do
without. Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs,
use real ones and benefit some American farmer.

Easter is just an example, the point is. . do not wait for the
government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.
If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of
Chinese goods, that a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our
favor... fast!! The downside? Some American businesses will feel a temporary
pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory. The solution, lets give
them fair warning. So, we will not implement this UNTIL May 1, and we will
only continue it until June1. That is only one month of trading losses, but
it will hit the Chinese for 1/12 th of the total or 8% of their American
exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the
benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

Remember, May 1 to June 1.

Send this to everybody you know. Show them we are Americans and NOBODY
can take our people and hold them.

When we go to war with China someday, this is what's going to happen. At first, we will slaughter them with wreckless abandon. We will kill them by the thousands with our high tech wizardry and technologically advanced weapons. Amazingly, however, the Chinese will simply continue to throw more and more troops at us. Then, as we start running out of weapondry, both high tech and not so high tech, we will discover something #ad
We have no manufacturing base to replace them! Furthermore, we won't have enough people around who know how to produce this stuff to even think of doing it on a large scale. As the swarms of Chinese relentlessly come at us, the tide of war which, in the beginning looked so much like it was going to be another "Desert Storm" will be quickly turning against us. We will try to bribe the Chinese off with promises of money, only to discover that they don't worship the dollar as we do, and their military has executed the ones who do. All the while, the hordes will keep coming, relentlessly, like locusts.

This directly relates to the Power Problem Here in California.
I will explain.
At the Peak of WW2, We (the USA) were launching a Liberty Ship per Day. Why?, Because we Made all of the tooling and Parts for the Ships Here in this Country By SKILLED Labor and Trades People.

How does this relate to the Power Problem CA?

Because Most of the Equipment that is needed to Generate Power, Is FORIGN MADE!.
It has Taken One Combined Cycle Plant In Mckittrick (Close to Taft) Almost 9 Months Just to Get 33% of the Plant Completed. Because all of that equipment is Made Somewhere other than the USA.

The Southern Cal Edison Plant I use to work at on Terminal Island In LongBeach Ca Was oringinally Built In 1919. They Built the Plant In a Poured Concrete Building With 55 Marine type Boiler's and 3 Steam Turbines. But they Built the Plant in 8 Months!, With Underpowered Trucks, Buldozers, Cranes Etc.
This plant was then Re-powered in 1977 into a Combined Cycle type plant with a 48-55% Heat rate efficiency.

The Problem I have with these New Plants is that they are Delivered on a "skid". So all they Have to do is Pour the Concrete Pad for them to sit On. And Build a Cement Block Building for the Control Room.

Its True that there are fewer and fewer Skilled Trades and Labor People out there.
Because we just let someone else make it for us.

Westinghouse and General Electric are out of the Power Cicuit Breaker Manufacturing Proccess, Mitsubishi Bought the Patent from GE for their Design. ABB Bought some patent's from Westinghouse for their Stationary Gasturbine Buisness.

Most of the Hydro,Steam and Gasturbine Units Produced now are Made by Companys Like Hatachi, Kawasaki, Mitsubishi and ABB->(Swissy Non-committal Chocolate Eat'n Dudes).
Its a Low Down Dirty Shame.

This Eventually will lead the USA Not being able to Do anything for its self.

Just for General Purpose Info, The Plant I use to Operate Has the Oldest (Operating) General Electric Steam Turbine in the USA.
(Unit 9). I Miss the Days when we would Test the Main Stop Steam Valves on it, Along with Overspeed testing.

I Do Miss that Job and that Company (SCE).
There Just Something about Steam Power that get My Blood Going and the Hair Raising Experience of Have I unit Blow a Main Drum Pressure Relief Valve.
Oh Well.
