Finally put it on. Also fwiw the oil still looked good after 22,000 miles of pulling the 5er and gooseneck quite often. I think with the extra fluid I can make it 30,000 mile change intervals. Only problem I will have to slide the spare back a little. Looks good also.

I am with you here. I also installed the cover and filled the diff with LE 607 and the friction modifier. At the same time I installed a Westach dual temp gage. The rear diff normally runs at about 150 to 160 degrees with the truck empty. When pulling my 26' TT up to the mountains on a 75 degree day it has gotten as high as 190 degrees.



I do not have any temp readings from before the change over, but feel comfortable with these temps. I am planning on getting the front diff cover and filling the front axle with the same lube in the near future.
