Mag-Hytec DD pan Installation..gasket/no gasket

Just got my new MH DD pan... . wow! The installation looked pretty straight forward, but I thought I'd do a search on the board to make sure all bases where covered and no surprises were out there. This is where I got concerned... ..... several folks mentioned a gasket between the VB and the MH filter extension block. None was in the kit that I received. . should there be? Just worried about pulling air in if there isn't a good seal. And anyone know the torque spec's when attaching the block to the VB?

Don't know about those torque specs. but be dammed carefull about the torque spec. on the drain plug----30 INCH! pounds, thats Inch pounds. They can be a bi--h to remove if over tightened. Larry

you do not need a seal. when i did mine i called mag-hytec to be sure. and the mounting surface is nice and flush with the extension block. no worries man,.

My Mag-Hytec bolts kept loosening up on the '98. 5. I ended up using Loctite on them. That took care of it.

Be sure to use the removeable strenght loc-tite

Amen!! Make sure its blue 242 and not red 272!
