Getting ready to put on new cover and using 75/140 full synthetic fluid and wondering if need friction modifier with syn.

On my o2 i used reg oil and fric modifier and never seemed like my no slip really ever worked after that.

Thanks for any advice

No friction modifier required with American Axle Manufacturing (AAM) axles which are in all '03 and later trucks.

Your '02 truck had a Dana/Spicer rear axle.

I agree with Bill, no friction modifier needed. In fact the O and M guide in the glove box states this for the Diff's.

Another point you need to know if you install a Mag-Hytec cover on the front diff. This cover may need to be relieved a little to provide room for the track bar. I had to grind off a little of the Al housing for clearance. My son has a 2. 5" inch lift on his truck and did not need to do this for his truck.
